Goodbye Spain, Hello England!

Matt woke up early and came over to the girl room to take me for a walk. He grabbed some push-ups while we were at it, like he does.

We walked to a cool park with a  hill overlooking Madrid. I love spending time with this guy.

We found the temple wedding photo spots and grabbed an early morning/no makeup or hair done selfie.

We took off our sheets, vacuumed our floors, and wiped down the bathroom and we were off. We loved staying at the temple housing!

I love making time to worship in temples as we travel. ❤️

And I showed the girls the picture spots while Matt collected our cards from the temple.

We wanted to do some shopping so we took the train, but when we got off everyone got off and we realized they were closing all the trains down for a months worth of maintenance. That left us scrambling to figure out our route to the airport using only buses, which was tricky and more expensive. 🫤 Anyways, waiting for our bus there was a whole walk of these plaques for different cities. And I can’t wait to see Sevilla someday!

We checked out a store that was cool in Berlin but sadly lame in Madrid. Then we waited for our bus in the Madrid heat.

We flew RyanAir to Manchester and I had to pay for extra baggage and that came with priority seating for these two. They felt very grown up taking the train from our terminal to the plane, boarding, and finding a spot for our 2 small suitcases. They sent a proof of life selfie.

The flight to Manchester only cost $60 and was supposed to be an hour and a half, but ended up leaving late and then it took over 2 hours. 😫

Welcome to the UK Border!

There was one train from Manchester to Lime Street Station in Liverpool every hour, so we grabbed a sandwich while we waited.

We rode from the first stop (Manchester airport) to Liverpool (last stop) and it took for-ev-er. We had a million stops and then our train got delayed right in the middle for some reason.

We got to Liverpool just after 9, and popped into Lidl for Saturday dinner and Sunday food.

This is a cute little house right downtown and there were tons of people out and about, drinking and partying with crazy loud music! The house has tons of earplugs available in each bedroom, and we think that’s why.

❤️😍❤️

This morning we started off with plans to catch a bus to church, but when we were going to be late and it started raining we switched plans and grabbed an Uber.

We attended the largest ward in the UK and all the youth bore testimony about spending the last week at FSY, which was wonderful. We also met Sister Ray, a missionary from Arizona.

We took an Uber home and it had seats facing each other which felt pretty cool.

The crew had arrived and was napping while we were at church, and that afternoon we headed down to the dock for our Beatles Magical Mystery Tour. 🤗

Here we go!

It was a 2 hour tour with band members old homes and other fun Beatles sights and, of course their music.

Penny Lane!

Strawberry Fields forever!

These kids were a little crazy, but also so good. They’ve missed each other and we’re all hoping their excitement of being together continues.

My dad was living his best life singing along. A lot of people were singing along.

Our tour guide is the brother of the lead singer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, so Matt and Frankie grabbed a pic with him.

With our bus tour we were able to go into the Cavern Club for free, so we walked through.

The most famous club in the world! At least that’s what they tell us. I had never heard of it. 🤷‍♀️😂

Amy took the kids around and then they walked home.

Matt and I stayed a little longer with my dad and then took an Uber.

Liverpool has some really cute areas. And some not, just like any big city.

We went across the street from our air b&b for Doner kebabs and pizza.

So good!

We stayed up talking way too late and we’re all excited for our cruise today!
