Llangollen- day #4

Thursday morning stillness.

We made a really good boating team. The only tension we had was Thursday traveling up the narrows to Llangollen.

The boat office lady had told us about these narrows, but we couldn’t remember at what point in our trip to expect them and they surprised us. Alli and Amy went off ahead and texted us when it was clear, but my phone wasn’t working, and then somehow we were the leaders of the pack, and it was just all very stressful.

Finally we made it and were able to back into our parking slip, but by the time we’d parked and made our way back to the little restaurant papa and max and Laney were waiting for us at, only papa was there.

We walked at least a mile down the horse drawn boat path (the water was so clean and clear!) and finally found them. Then we gave hugs and loves then talked about obedience and common sense.

We ate another delicious lunch in Llangollen. Another of my favorites? I think so.

Papa stayed near the boat and sent a proof of life pic to let us know he’d made it back safely.

Matt headed to the river and we took this crew souvie shopping!

This was a warm day and no one there has air conditioning so it was toasty and our boat was stuffy.

Matt got to swim in the river behind us. He also banged up his knee, as happens.

Alli got herself a cute double ice cream. Papa got everyone ice cream while we searched for D and Max, and they were a little sad they didn’t get included in that, but they didn’t complain.

We stayed in Sun Trevor that night so we’d be nice and close to Trevor Basin for our boat return Friday morning. We played Happy Salmon (pictured) and some other fun games.

On the other side of the canal there was a hill with a tavern and castle ruins, so Matt hiked up and brought back some desserts for the crew. Goodnight Cavendish!

Matt and I stayed up on the front of the boat chatting that night. I’m a lucky lady with this fella of mine. ❤️
