Spring break - purse state park

On Thursday morning we met up again at Joni's to load up her big rig. This time was more difficult though, because a) mamas were considerably more tired on Thursday of spring break than we were on Monday. B) we needed two giant strollers instead of just one. And c) we needed beach toys and towels.

After a long time (like an hour, but we did drive to pick up Sarah and gang) we were finally all loaded up and on our way.

As we drove up, we spotted the ely's just driving up too! Such a coincidence! We asked Dixie to take a pic, and I made everyone stand in the middle of the road. There's just something about the linearness of looking down an empty road, or a vacant hallway, I just love to take pictures in and of. I'm thinking of ideas for our next family pictures...
It was another cold and blustery day, but my girls rolled up their pants and got right to playing.
Goofy cheese!
Most of the kids couldn't care less how cold it was. We are beach people!
Woah!
This one had her pants hiked all the way up to bathing suit style. I made her let them down to at least shorts length and sent her off.
Big girl!
She was so wet and after a couple hours there her feet were bright red!
She didn't care!
We dug, explored, splashed and looked for shark teeth for hours.
Our colder friends (Logan's and neilsons) left just a little bit after us late comers arrived. At least we got to hang out for a little while.
I had to rein addie back in. Several times.
Most of the kids took warming breaks where the mamas would wrap them up in whatever dry towels they could find. Child warms for a few minutes, then right back at it!
We found some seriously huge shark teeth! I'm pretty ADD in my shark tooth hunting. There are just so many other pretty things! Oooh, sea glass! Oooh, pretty shell! Oooh, look at that rock! But i did find plenty to suit my fancy. (: along with plenty other sea treasures.
We had to walk about half a mile down a path to get to the cliff, then down a little hill to get down to the beach. We parked our strollers up at the top, and little Sammy, who wasn't feeling well, hung out in his stroller up the hill. My girls had fun running up and down to check on him, and check the terrain out.
I love this little goof.
After a few hours we were all cold, wet, and ready to go home. We changed clothes and loaded our packs back up, and hit the trail.
We came home and took baths (can't forget that flesh eating bacteria that lives in the bay), put jammies on, and watched a movie. Perfect day. (:
