ugly sweaters abound

the duffins are a cute little family that moved into our ward a few months ago, and in true ray fashion (california style), they are moving on quickly. he's got a job at the pcc in hawaii and she's promised us a good time if/when we visit.
so tempting!

anywho, i haven't thrown a party in awhile and i've been dying for an excuse to have an ugly sweater party, and voila! here it was! we asked people to bring soups, breads, salads, and desserts - fav fall foods! it was all super good and it was really nice little party. we had 50+ people and i came to realize that we just really need a bigger house. ;) next one, i guess.
while people were eating i went around and took a few candids, but other than that, nothing.
and i had our nice camera out and ready, i had wanted to take pics of families as they came in all dressed in their ugly sweaters.
fail.
we had ugly prizes for the ugliest sweaters in 3 categories - ugliest overall, ugliest bill cosby, and ugliest holiday. there were a lot of ties, and elder anderson was one of those tied for ugliest sweater.
(i think he was fishing for votes)
so here he is with his awesome prize. he's passing that one down to his posterity fo' sho.
after all but the elders and laura had gone home i realized that we had only 2 candid shots, so here's our dysfunctional ugly sweater family photo.
love the family, love laura, love the elders.
shoot, i love all our friends that showed up for the fun too.

it was a great night and i hope the duffins feel our love as we send them off to aloha.

oh, and this was the basenent aftermath.
totally worth it and not too bad.
and gave me an excuse to go through all the toys and throw away the lame-o's before christmas.
all good.
ps - i just googled snafu (spelling, you know) and oops! i totally didn't know that was an acronym and i certainly didn't know what it stood for. i apologize for using that, and i apologize in advance for any other inadvertent cursing i might do in the future.

Or you could have gone to dictionary.com and not had to point out that it was an acronym... ;)
