happy halloween!

halloween 2012.
this is just a preview shot.
gotta get the 2 big kids in on the action too!
(great pic thought, right? ;)
we were prepared (at least in the candy department) for halloween this year.
last year we had so many trick or treaters that we ran out of candy within about an hour.
so this year we bought a ton. and consequently, had a ton leftover.
there were definitely less trick or treaters this year. i don't know if people were confused by the storm and thought t or t'ing was pushed back to saturday, or what.
so we had a ton leftover until the bigger kids heard that and started shoving handfuls into their bags. :)
(the milk is just a point of reference to show how big our bucket was)
halloween kinda snuck up on me this year.
like i did have some things ready - the candy, most of the decorations, and friends invited over, but i dropped the ball on a lot.
like - playgroup party (we ended up just having people over to play), delaney's costume (she was a thrown together kitty again for the actual night), my costume (my 80's girl fizzled, but i'm thinking 80's party?), and a ton of other small details (glitter from my franken-fairy, spooky treats, etc).
we had davis', baldwin's, and aina's over for pizza.
but then i had to get get lexi from cheer (who has practice on halloween?!) and then christian went to basketball conditioning (who has that on halloween too?!) so we were never all together as a fam.
even with all of my ball dropping unpreparedness, it was still fun.
hitting up our house first.
the girls (addie, frankie, and abby) did really well, even though they rode in the stroller for most of the time and just got out at every door.
we stopped by for a quick pic with roni.
cuties. :)
i'm not the best at trick or treating pictures.
i see other peoples that turn out so nicely and i keep trying and trying, but mine never quite do.

the girls were so adamant about riding in the stroller, so one time when they were running to a house we put the babies in. so when they came back they were like "hey!" it was so cute. and the babies were such good little blobs. in the stroller, out of the stroller, i think they were too cold to cry so they just kinda went with it. :)
(terrible pictures! matt did get some with the good camera but that actually requires effort to download)
it was so fun seeing all the decorated houses and all the cute kids dressed up.
we got hot chocolate from a neighbor and i heard tales of chili and cider at other places.
such a friendly little neighborhood. :)
the girls loved this swirly light show.
they were having a total dance party.
or, run around in circles party actually.
we met up with some of the other ward families trick or treating around our neighborhood and walked with them for awhile.
when the boys got home from basketball they quickly rushed out for some candy.
they only stopped at a few houses though and then hit the b-ball court.
towards the end of the night we all ended up at our house for a few minutes, so we got all the ladies together for a pic.
came out terribly, but still, here we are. :)
i even tried getting out all the red eyes but it wasn't working too well. it was making some of us look crossed eyed, and some just wouldn't work at all, so i gave up.
we're still gorgeous, scary eyed or not. ;)
and that was our fun halloween 2012.

ps - lexi and peter were going to pass out candy, but he ended up getting in trouble and couldn't come over. so lexi watched movies all night.
 hence, no pictures.
