date with the boy

christian and i had a date planned for wednesday. alexis has been willing to babysit to work off half of her class ring and now half of her drivers ed. it's been super sa-weet! since peter went out of town for thanksgiving lexi wanted to hang out with him in the morning. when i took her to his house, christian was still asleep so i told the girls not to answer the door or phone and that if they needed anything to wake up christian.  i've done this a few times, just for a few minutes each time. chris said that they went downstairs quietly, where he was already awake, and said "boo!" to scare him. then they told him that i had left and when he asked where i'd gone addie said "ummm, i sink she took her to peter's house." big girls. :)

 

we asked lexi to be home by 3 and by jove! she was. our first stop was old navy to use my b1g1 75% off coupon. i got addie the next size up for her colorful peacoat. she doesn't love it cause it's red, (she wanted pink) but i think i can sell her on it. then to the thrift store for ugly sweaters for our upcoming ugly sweater party. i have always wanted to have one and with the duffin's moving i had the perfect opportunity. we got some doosey's, i cannot wait to show them off. :) also, some ugly prizes for the ugliest sweaters. chris and i had so much fun laughing and picking different ensembles and prizes. thrift stores can be pretty fun.

 

then we went to see skyfall. it was totally action packed and fun and i love soda and movie popcorn, and hanging out with christian, so it was wonderful.

 

then to dicks and kohls to use more coupons. lexi always teases that i never shop without a coupon and she's right, i really try not to. we love dicks (except that it's super overpriced) and had fun playing with all their stuff.

our last stop was walmart, which surprisingly wasn't that bad for the night before thanksgiving. we're oven roasting our turkey this year and i realized that we didn't have a pan big enough. or enough tupperware for leftovers. or 2 justin bieber posters and a handful of other necessities that one has to purchase every time she enters wally.

 

we came home to the girls in bed and laney happily cuddling with daddy, yay! poor laney went down at 12:30 and slept till 4:30, then she feel asleep with lexi holding her and again with matt holding her. when i got home she felt warm and sure enough, she's got a low grade fever. :( we got her some medicine and within a few minutes she was happily playing. then last night after i fed her, i held her and snuggled with her for a long time. little sister doesn't ever sit still for long enough to cuddle. even when she's sleeping she wiggles and can't get comfortable. cuddle time is God's gift for when babies are sick.  :)

 

i have to say, my kids (and matt, too:) are so fun. chris and i had a really good time. we laughed and shopped and talked and ate. it was a really good day. then when we came home we all watched a silly lifetime movie with lexi.

oh, would that everyday was as fun and filled with family!

i really am so very blessed.
