another papa photo shoot and our weekend

i hate being so behind on blogging because i miss out on writing about the silly little things we do everyday. so i will combine our silly, daily stuff with some cute pics from when my dad was here.

we had some crazy nice days while my dad was visiting. one day before naps we brought the girls outside and i shot away.

(notice the trail of spilled bubbles, the gold shoes on the wrong feet ((they really are cute shoes when paired with the right ensemble!)), and the lumberjackish way she is sitting - love it!)

today was a blah day. we woke up to emergency connections calling because of - 1st a sever thunderstorm warning and then - 2nd a tornado warning at 4:30 am! yikes stripes, we both almost had heart attacks with the phone ringing that early!

(check out her missing shoe. she has to have at least one missing shoe at all times!)

this face is always accompanied by a "did you hear that?!" a jet could fly over (and sometimes does) the house and addie would act surprised and say "did you hear that?!"
she hates loud noises!

i hardly slept at all because i am now on week 4 of this ridiculous cold/allergies/sinus infection or whatever the heck i've got going on. i am draining and i am draining a ton! addie just got over hers, which gives me hope that the end is in sight. so ready!

we had a lovely weekend. matt and i are deep in the planning stages of our backyard. we've lived here 2 years, i think it's time. and our grandpa month continues with a visit from grandpa ray. we are so blessed to have such amazing grandparents!

this evening's been spent trying to teach my children that there are always going to be people that you don't get along with that you still have to work with and give respect to. christian got in-school suspension (again!). he has 1 teacher that he strongly dislikes, and she strongly dislikes him as well. i know the boy is a handful, but he's doing really well in 5 out of 6 classes, and i wasn't able to say that even at the beginning of the year.

i looooooooooove this face!!!

and it's hard to teach your children to be respectful when there are adults that are disrespecting them. and i know that i take everything my children tell me with a grain of salt and i am not one to jump on the "my child can do no wrong" bandwagon. i know they are not perfect, but i do think they are good kids. and i don't think that just because you are a teacher you can say whatever you want, patronize, or put down children. i know they wouldn't do it in front of me and i have a hard time with them doing it just because i'm not there.

anyways, enough of that. kids, no all people, should be respectful of one another, and that is what i am trying to teach my kids. i hope it gets through! other than that, we are all smooth sailing! love, love, love these normal days in life!

the kids have all been so cute together lately! the babies just love alexis and christian. whenever they come in, frankie leans to them and does her "pick me up" grunt. when i read to frankie and addie they give kisses to eachother, to me, to eachother, to me. it's so precious. lexi took addie to the park with rara. she loves being a big girl. and she loves her big sissy. and i love all of them loving on eachother.

we enjoyed a beautiful day yesterday! 80 degrees and everyone in my house was complaining about how hot it was! so crazy! until bedtime, when i was so uncomfortable. this morning i realized that i've been going to bed at 60 degrees all winter (yes, 60 degrees! and we still have $600 propane bills!) and then boom! 80 degrees! i was hot all night! finally after our early morning wake up call, i turned the fan on and then it felt just right. :)

she thought this was one of those ones that you shout into and then someone on the other end can hear you. we have one up at our park.

lots going on at church lately. total circle of life. we've had numerous sweet, sweet people that have passed away. a cute wedding. and a bunch of sweet babies on their way really soon. i'm so blessed to know the bigger picture, that He has a plan for all of us and is mindful of each of our lives and our struggles.

looooove this one!
and this one! she wants to be just like her big sister!

she actually pedaled! now we just need to work on her crazy steering...

okay, and that's sort of an update of our weekend. :)

i looooooove that addie face too! she is so expressive, which next to chubbiness, is my favorite trait in kids.
