end of january rando's

my goal was to blog every 3 days. that makes 10 posts per month. for january i posted 8 times, that's pretty good right? i wish all of my resolutions were pretty good, but alas, they are not.
that's okay, it's a new month.
a loooooove month!

and we are doing it up right. the 1st day of valentines happened on our island.

i'm doing the 14 days of valentines for my family and everyday i will put a small treat and note in their mailbox.

they've got mail!

and then we enjoyed dinner on our delightful heart shaped plates atop our delightful valentines placemats.
i love love.

in other, less delightful news, i'm getting my wisdom teeth extracted on thursday.
it's silly how nervous i am about the whole thing.
like, everyone in the world has had their wisdom teeth 'extracted.'
most people don't wait until they are in their thirty's, but you know.
the catalyst for the 'extraction'
(no, i'm not getting paid for every time i say 'extraction,' but if i was i would use the $$$ to pay the $1900 'extraction' bill. now that's an 'extraction' if i ever heard one!)
was last thursday when i had the worst toothache of my life.
i've had a lot of mouth woes.
but this was the worst.
i found out way back when i was preggo with addie that i had a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth and that i really should have them out sooner rather than later.
but i didn't want to so i put it off and off and off.
but last thursday, if i could have gone immediately and had someone (anyone!) pull it out, wide awake and everything, i totally would have.
but 2 dentist visits and $300 dollars later, i settled for the 'extraction' this thursday.
so i'm piecing together the puzzle pieces for how to care for my family while i am recuperating from my 'extraction.'

johnna will watch the girls on thurs morning, then matt will keep them the rest of the day and lindsay will bring dinner.

on friday matt will keep the girls again, but if he needs help or a break he can call sarah or shelly, and mindy will bring dinner. alexis will stay after school for her game and becky will bring her home. and christian will spend the night at anthon's so he can go on his boy scout hike early saturday morning.

then on saturday, when matt leaves for his (mandatory!!!) drill weekend, mindy will get the girls. i'm hoping i'll be able to drive christian to his basketball game at 4, but i might be calling in more favors.

and i'll be all better by sunday, right???
at least i have amazing friends!

oh yes, the day before the toothache to end all toothaches, alexis sprained her ankle.
she fell coming down from a stunt and rolled it the wrong way.
an er visit later and we had crutches and an air splint.
(this was the best pic i could get! i was on the floor taking pictures of frankie and then nonchalantly took one of an unsuspecting lex:)

she's doing much better now, thanks for asking. :)

addie comes down from naptime in all sorts of crazy ensembles.
this afternoon she was wearing two long sleeved striped shirts (not too bad) and her bathing suit bottoms as a skirt. (pretty bad. but funny too)

can you see both of her legs squeezed into one leg of her suit?
she craaaazy!

christian started wearing eyeliner and straightening his hair. and then he stopped wearing eyeliner. (he's still straightening his hair though) i am hoping he does not start again. but if he does i am going to bite my tongue and go with the flow. he's been sooo good lately that i can handle a little make-up.
i think.
(again, this was a sneak shot, you couldn't tell though, right?)

addie started gymnastics again.
i tell her on tuesday night that we need to go to bed early because we have gymnastics in the morning and she says "i love gymnastics!"
that's her latest, she "loves" everything.
i bought her dora underwear and she loved them
i read her a book and she loved it.
looks like she loves love too. :)

anyways, i finally bought her a leotard and skirt to wear.
i know this is more for ballet, but really, what does a 2-year old wear to gymnastics?

"now for a not-silly face addie. less silly, less silly, oh okay."

and those are some random memories from january.
hope you enjoyed, i know we did. :)

Good luck with the "extraction"--ick. I was totally put under when I got mine out; it's a good thing, because I had 6, and they were all impacted. yuck, yuck, yuck. But, it all went much better than I could have hoped. I wish I were closer so I could bring you ice cream and take the kids off your hands. Boo to wisdom teeth! But Yay for gymnastics! What a cutie.

I LOVE your Valentine's placemats! SOOOOOO CUTE! I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff... Abby and I are leaving notes and a piece of chocolate somewhere in the house everyday for Tony. :)

And as for leotards... I would stick with those. The actual gymnastics leos are SO expensive!
