addie got hooked up! sistah friend got some really cool gifts. we've had some post-birthday probz with how and when to play with presents. there's also this awesome new rivalry between addie and frankie that we're dealing with. i'm thinking maybe we'll open one new present a day? anyone have any ideas? we did break into the dress-up stuff right away.
(and the "ark" stuff, the journal book, stickers, jewelry, cookies, yeah, we've opened quite a few)
they insisted on wearing jewelry to gymnastics and then nicely took turns wearing while the other sister was in class. all the other girls were so impressed!
ps - still not potty trained. she is killing me slowly, one poopy diaper at a time.
little miss teeth has gotten some good knots on her head. today's was a real doozy (i forgot to take a picture) because she fell of the deck. she got a knot and a good scrape.
no rest for the crazy, so the day after the birthday party was our rs arm that i was in charge of, since tracie is out of town.
we talked about writing our personal histories and it was super low-key.
and the food was sooo yummy!
i left the meeting a few minutes early so i could catch the last bit of christian's last baseball game. it had threatened to rain all day, but had held off. so as soon as i start driving north on 3 notch, it starts sprinkling. i prayed that i could at least see part of his last game. and the rain totally held off. it sprinkled a little bit, but i borrowed a blanket from trina and all was well. the inning i got there, our yanks were rallying. they were down 11-2, but they brought it up to 11-7 that inning, totally fun! they still lost, 14-11, but that's pretty respectable. :)
that night i took delaney up to her room, turned off the light and just let her lead the way. she sang, and looked at books, and walked around. then she went over by the door and laid down.
after a few minutes of that, and quietly humming to herself, i scooped her up and she looked like this a few minutes later.
precious days.
oh, please help me remember to cherish these precious days.
on friday i saw the big kids off to their last day of seminary and went back to bed. then... i slept till 10! isn't my hubby the best?! i could have rolled right over and gone back to sleep, but i thought i probably shouldn't push it. here's how working on the computer goes:
little d whines to be held.
little d whines to help type.
little d whines for extra cuddles.
it's good for dad to learn to do things one handed, though, right?
our hurricane season officially started june 1 and we aren't wasting any time. tropical storm andrea blew through here, and we've had loads and loads of rain.
and some threats of bad weather, but other than rain, it's been fine.
a friend put this on fb and it made me laugh.
wow, that's fantastic!
(another use for the wtf acronym)
scruffy rainy hugs.
the whole gang checked the out the rain, and helped bring in the soggy newspaper.
and yes, we do hang out in our bathing suits all the time.
even me.
so call ahead before you visit.
or else.
more and more and more rain, driving addie to her last day of pre-k on friday!
hallelujah!
on friday night lexi worked, chris went to a friends house, and the rest of us headed to mccombs to watch as kt opened her mission call!
it was so exciting!
and she's going to...
indianapolis, indiana!
she leaves august 14th and she is super excited!
on saturday christian and i left at 8:30 for an early mama/bubba date. we hit the new xscape theater in brandywine and saw now you see me. it was cute. we picked up a baby gift for the boys new nephew and headed to bwi.
his flight was about 30 minutes delayed, so we got to hang out for a long while. $12 worth, to be exact.
goodbye, bubba! see you in 13 days! mama can totally handle that. :)
and fyi, check out level 1 next time you go to the airport. that's upfront parking right thar!
i got home in time to help matt blitz the house and then tally and jj, matt's friends from way back when came over with tally's boyfriend, daughter, and daughters friend. they brought a delicious chocolate peanut butter pie and we visited, went for a walk, and ate. it was a nice night. lexi worked. again. but that afternoon she took addie and frankie to meet up with newly licensed peter and his little sister at mcd's for some happy meals and playtime.
today has been... a day.
arent't the girls are cute playing out on the deck though?
this was before delaney fell headfirst off the deck.
yup, it's been a day.
next week brings the last day of school for lu, planning, and meetings, and more dates.
bring it!
