the rest of the birthday

lexi wanted to go to okada for her birthday dinner. historically, the little girls have been terrified of the fire and the knives.

but we talked it up and made a big deal of addie being a big girl and going with the big kids - we left frankie and delaney home with hannah. :)

we love the show!

addie liked her chop sticks.

and her food.

and the restaurant in general.

she was a little bit scared of the flames, but she kept it together and we all had a good time. the next day she even asked if we could go back.we've got another believer!

while we ate, it started to pour down rain, so matt volunteered to go roll up laura's windows. he was soaked!

everybody got a turn catching the shrimp. lex was a good sport and she caught two shrimp!

 success!

even addie tried - with a little help from bubba and sis.

love these two!

such a fun birthday dinner!

the kids talked me into taking presents to the restaurant, which i do not love doing.

mental note - do not fall for it again.

she loved all her presents.

and the whole darn gang!

joseph rode home with us and addie went with daddy.

so i wanted to make a new kind of frosting that darlaina had told me about. the top is her version, the bottom is mine. same, same, right?!!!

 

what a mess! my frosting never thickened! laura says its because i got yolk in my egg whites. i say its because i'm crazy awesome.

c'est la vie!!!

 i love these kiddos.

apparently we got a really cute picture of lexi and addie blowing out the candles last year, and lexi really wanted another cute one.

so laura, david, and i were all snapping away...

lexi says we failed.

yay!

addie wanted to blow more candles out, so we put 5 on her cake and she let frankie help.

and thus ended the double birthday festivities for june 3rd, 2013.
