stuff

some of what we've been up to:
  • christian is playing baseball with the yankees again. this will be his third (or fourth?) season with these boys and i think it will be great. our neighbor is one of the enemy coaches ;) and he's excited for all the teams to work together so they all improve together. i like that philosophy.
  • kid swaps every monday morning
  • presidency and committee meetings
  • we just started a new session of gymnastics. we've only gone once, but i think thursdays are gonna be tough days. frankie goes from 9:30-10:15 and then we have a break until addie goes at 11:30. trying to keep them occupied during that break and then keep laney occupied while addie goes was challenging. i'm kinda wishing we would have left addie going saturday morning. maybe next session.
  • i had 3 great visiting teaching visits this month, 4 if you include mine coming. such a wonderful feeling that, even though it's never "done,"  that visits have been done and the rest is just the cherry on top.
  • rs womens conference with friends. we carpooled up, and then on the way back stopped at a super cute meat shop. i love cute little shops. and i love food. win, win.
  • missionaries for dinner
  • dental stuff. i went to the specialist to check out my bum tooth and he's gonna try to finish up my root canal. i'm not totally sure what will be different from what my dentist has already done, but he seemed to think that with their magic little telescopes and medicine for if my root was still bleeding that he could make it work. i am really praying it does, because not only would it suck to go 3 times for a root canal and then ultimately need an extraction, it would also mean paying 3 times, and it's not cheap. i'll hopefully finish up the nightmare tooth problems of 2013 tomorrow.
  • library time
  • lunch with friends
  • de-decorating for st. pats (which i totally dropped the ball on this year. no green food, no small gifts, no dressing up. i even got myself, addie, and frankie dressed on sunday before matt reminded me that we should be wearing green. we threw in some green hairbows and called it good. next year we'll do better. :)
  • decorating for easter.
  • and then just all the regular daily busy stuff
laney helped me decorate and turns out that she loves easter eggs. :)
and frankie loves her "lemonade."
(little mermaid)
speaking of "lemonades," addie has a funny way of saying lots of things.
i really just love the way she talks, so i don't correct her too much.
but with kindergarten next year i've been thinking that maybe it's time.
in the interest of not forgetting, here are some of my favorite addie words.
  • the obvious, "lemonade" = little mermaid. i started working on this one and she told me, "no, i just say it normal, lemonade." she is starting to say "little... lemonade." we'll get there.
  • lellow = yellow. we've been working on that and it goes a little like "yell oh. lellow." the seed has been planted though, so i'm not worried.
  • flip = skip. as in "we should flip school today." this has become a family fav and i don't know that i can ever go back to boring old skip.
  • at = that. easy mistake.
  • sink = think. as in "i sink we should flip school today." can you tell i get that one a lot? :)
she's so funny and cute. :)

also, just a quick brag on the big kids.
and also, back to the gymnastics party. :)
i was so proud of them. on the way to the party i gave the whole gang the run down and told them how we had to be cleaned up and out of there by 4 because there was another party coming in and asked for their help in getting everything cleaned up.
not only did they have fun and play and act goofy during the party, but as soon as it ended, they jumped in and started taking things to the car and cleaning up. they were so helpful and sweet.  i'm sure their 3-year-old sister's birthday party was probably not the most fun thing for a 15 and 16 year old to do, but they were great. love this familia of mine. :)
