phoenix - day 1

we left our house not-so-bright but very early thursday morning. (3:30)

(that was all after being up till almost midnight finishing laundry and packing, which i dropped the ball on and didn't do earlier that day)

happy to be getting going so we could get some airplane sleep!

our nonstop flight (haven't had one of those in forevah!) left baltimore at 6:30 and got to phoenix just after 9am, love gaining 3 hours! we all had a crazy hour at jackie's apartment with the whole darn gang before the ladies left for a day of beauty.

first up: pedi's!

then mani's!

there was jackie, autumn, taylor (autumn's daughter), jackie's mom liz, stepmom loretta, grandma, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law's girlfriend, lex, and i, for a total of 10 lovely ladies.

after forevah at the nail salon (4 people working on 10 people), we headed over (late) to spray tan.

i had never done this before, and jackie came a few minutes behind us, so the lady told auto, lex, and i to go with the darkest color... yeah, not-so-hotso.

we were seriously orange... like david (autumn's hubby) kept singing the oompa-loompa song.

and i gotta say, not the biggest fan of the spray tan.

i was splotchy and look a little bit like i had a disease.

i think i'll probably stay pastey, thankyouverymuch.

from all of the beauty and pampering it was off to cheesecake factory, which i think might be my favorite restaurant. they were out of dried cranberries for jackie's salad, so when the manager came out to apologize and see if there was anything they could do, jackie suggested a free cheesecake. and they totally came through! love it!!!

while we were beauty-ing the day away, the boys were enjoying a spring training game.

bubba took landy down to get him a ball and they were successful!

what a sweet guy. :)

after all that fun we met up at the biltmore, organized 2 trucks full of luggage, unpacked, and met up with the whole darn gang for pizza at oregano's. we got to bed after 11, which, for those keeping track is 2am our time. so, excepting airplane sleep, which isn't great, we were up for 24 hours.

all in the name of a good time, right?!

 

meanwhile back at the ranch, alli reported that all was well. she said that laney ate and slept well. addie and frankie were on time and enjoyed gymnastics and addie got to school on time. that's all you can ask for, right?!
