phoenix - day 4

which could also be called fiasco day or the day of no pictures.

so after dancing the night away, and getting about 10 hours of sleep total for the whole weekend, we were all ready to sleep in. but we also wanted to hike the camelback mountains, so we were torn. we decided to wake up when we woke up. which was 9 for all but the teen crowd. no problem, we had tons of packing to do. we packed and did the whole "there are a lot of us, what should we do?" thing that we do. finally we came up with a plan. but when autumn and i went down to her car to take our shower bags, the car wouldn't start.

ugh.

we called matt and david to chiggity-check things out and went to plan c and d with the kids. big kids to mall, and little kids to pool. meanwhile, the boys were on plan e and f with the car (hotel employee and aaa, respectively), neither of which worked out. finally, the car parked next to us came out to leave and our boys got them to jump start the car and then took her on a drive to make sure she'd keep running. for plan h, autumn and i let the boys watch the littles and we headed to the spa for some white trashy jacuzzi soaking (no suits, just towels :) and showers (with walmart bags full of clothes instead of cute beach or shower bags :)

we had to roll out to the airport at 3 to catch our 5:30 flight.
that's when i slashed all the rest of the tires with this bad boy.
they announced that the flight was oversold and needed volunteers to fly out on the first flight the next morning and i was all, yes! 3 right here!
(i needed to get home to my babies and also get alli to the bus station)
they only ended up needing 1 to stay, so matt was the 1.
he was able to sleep and eat at the uso for free and i was able to pick him up right after i dropped alli off.
win-win.
and a $500 travel voucher to go with it!
holla!

we had another nonstop (holla back now!) and got home just after midnight.
we got stuck on the tarmac forever and then our bags took forever and then our shuttle took forever and then our drive home took forever.
we finally rolled up, in the snow, at 3:30.
it was so good to be home. :)
and i heard the new fun./pink duet that i love, love, love and frankie sings.
sa-weet.
