phoenix - day 3 - wedding day!

alexis and christian slept in the living room of our suite.
makeshift bed with 3 chairs.
it's good to be a teenager. :)
the girls met up in jackie's cottage at 9 to get our hair did.

lexi of the tons o' hair club went first.
we hung out in our robes, ate, talked, and laughed all day.
it was great.
lexi's hair turned out so cute!
mine?
not so much.
picture hair helmet meets curls.
we were able to fix it a little bit so it wasn't too bad.
the bridesmaids.
and the crazy bridesmaids!
they had decided to take pictures before the wedding, so we helped jackie over so they could have an intimate first look and then we took bridal party pictures, then they took family pictures, then we waited....
i guess it's better to be waiting around than to be rushing, but there was a lot of waiting around.
the ceremony was sweet.
instead of a unity candle they put letters into a wine box and sealed it shut, signed their wedding certificate, and released 30 doves.
then it was cocktail hour, yummy pina's
(virgin ones made especially for my crew!)
and appetizers.
then more waiting...
then it was finally time for the reception.
autumn and i were so nervous to do our speech, but lucky for us it was right after dinner.
and it went great and everyone said what a wonderful speech it was. :)
phew!
matt danced allllll night.
i did not, though i did dance enough.
and alllll night long people came up to me and told me how great and wonderful my husband was and thanked me for letting him dance with them (jackie's mom and her single friends).
and alllll night long i smiled and nodded and agreed that i got myself a keeper.
they danced their first dance, did the father/daughter and mother/son dances, cut the cake, threw the garter and the bouqet and all those other fun wedding party things.
except the electric slide, they were severely lacking the electric slide.
we (even early to bed matt) stayed until the happy bride and groom left at 2 and then we pretty much collapsed in our beds.
it was a long and good and happy day.
