party every day

we didn't have anything to do this morning, hooray! it was really nice to not rush through breakfast and morning rituals. i even got to workout before midnight. :) while i was downstairs on the elliptical, addie ran down and said that someone was at the door and then ran right back upstairs. with a sinking feeling i chased after her saying "don't open the door!" only to find the fed ex man standing on the porch in front of a wide open door. needless to say, we had a long talk about when it's appropriate to answer the door and when it is not.

at 12:30 we left for kara's big pony party. and, still on her safety kick, addie asked if we could talk "all about things that are safe. first up - electricity." and i'm totally quoting her. she's pretty funny. also, jack and anna must have told her that they lived in hollywood, maryland because she told me that several times, and then as we got closer she kept saying "there are a lot of trees in hollywood, maryland. the sky is very blue in hollywood, maryland." and so it went.

this cute little princess pony was for the kids to "decorate" with stickers and barrettes with ribbon. have you ever heard of such a thing? it was pretty cute.
jack was very excited to provide laney with a hat.
she didn't love it.
and when she didn't love it he sang to her "hush little baby don't say a word." so sweet. :)
silly girl.
my animal lover loved riding the pony. :)
she's so precious. :)
and the weather today was perfect.
a little cool in the shade, but otherwise a really nice 60°.

addie took awhile to warm up to the party. she was glued to me for awhile, like literally underfoot. she finally decided she'd like to decorate princess pony.
pretty fun!
laney liked checking out the animals in the little petting zoo.
addie finally decided she'd try the pony.
and of course she loved it.
big cute girl. :)
i kept trying to get a cute shot of lanes.
she would have none of it.
the party was really fun. :) frankie had picked out a mermaid barbie for kara and both she and addie spent a long time just looking at it. it was up in my room and they'd say "can i just look at the mermaid for awhile." but they were happy to give it too. :)

we got home from the party at 3:30, ate, and then left again at 4. stopped by the eye dr, subway for a sack dinner for christian, then dropped him off at the church at 4:45 for a boy scout campout on the ds barry - a big ship in the navy yard. sounds like a cool campout and he actually wanted to go on it, so yay! from there we got to drive back to l-town to pick up lexi from peter's and then on to mechanicsville for her last (hallelujah) day of drivers ed. dropped her off and then on to the church for a fun elders quorum date night. so for those keeping track that was l-town to hollywood, home to l-town, back to california, back to l-town, to mechanicsville, back to california, back to mechanicsville, and finally home to l-town. i could have driven to baltimore. twice.

anywho, josh and alecia did a really good job for our date night.
we ate and then played mormon family feud. it was really fun and our team pretty much killed it. just kidding, but it was really fun.
our game was interspersed with performances from select men.
rob got to be the first and he got to serenade christina with a lovely rendition of fools rush in.
it was pretty cute.
matt got to be the second "performer."
he got to draw a picture of me while blindfolded.
pretty true to life, and can i just say, i'm a hottie.
dave was the 3rd performer and he read poetry.
unfortunately i didn't get brian dancing, but it was pretty gooood.
when we finally got home, while matt was reading to addie and frankie, laney and i went and hung out with alexis for awhile. alexis, who is one of st. marys counties newest drivers ed passer. and with a 98%, i might add. my oldest and the youngest are super cute together. i love that all the kids love lady lanes so much. :)

and that was our rockstar day.
party every day, party every night.
