saturday morning matt took addie to gymnastics and daddy-daughter-donut-date. donuts after saturday morning gymnastics have become quite the tradition. the davis' brought christian home from the campout and fun was had by all. then at 11 i left for olive garden with the girls to celebrate alecia's sweet little bundle of pink that will be here before we know it.
i swore i was gonna get a picture at olive garden and then... forgot. but we had such a nice lunch and several of us needed to stop at target (not me, per se, but who couldn't always walk around target with a bunch of girlfriends?) so we met up again and shopped together.
target picture.
classic. :)
i got home around 3 and found a napping house.
laney, chris, and matt were asleep, and addie, frankie, and lexi were in bed.
i grabbed grandpa's box of chocolates and hit lexi's bed.
we argued and made up and decided a girls night was in order for making it through drivers ed.
we laughed and laughed at all the characters they met in their po-dunk mechanicsville, md class. most notably, a strapping young buck that the drivers ed instructor knows and picked on a lot named mr. edger. edger was quite the character and all week lisa and i teased the girls about saying hi to edger for us. well, on thursday when i took the girls i had gotten them mcdonalds that they were gonna share and eat, but when they got to class they had moved a few peoples seats and poor meghan had to sit next to edger! hilariousness ensued. we stayed at salsa's from 5:30-9:30! didn't seem like it, but i guess time flies when you're having fun. and we definitely had fun. :)
poor matt got asked to teach gospel doctrine today. like, before we took the sacrament he got asked. he did good, but told lots and lots of colorful family stories. i was a tad embarrassed, but what's a colorful story among friends, right? and he did better than i could have done, given no notice. it's all good. :)
okay, bad mom confession.
we finally let delaney open her birthday presents today.
life has been crazy and i kept forgetting and... like i said, terrible mom!
love this face! she was smiling and then addie and frankie came to help and she's like
"uh-ohhhh..."
and again.
"whaaaaa?"
addie likes to help.
a lot.
and like most 1-year-olds, she liked the wrapping paper.
a lot.
lots more helping and... tears.
i just love her. :)
addie and frankie really liked her doggie book from cousin quinn. :)
for dinner we had chili and i wanted the little girls to wear bibs. frankie acquiesced, but addie was holding out. so then we all put bibs on. aren't we funny???
and don't mind the syrup on the table. somehow that stayed there since breakfast.
class-y.
after dinner lexi tried on bridesmaid dresses.
one month and 4 days till take-off!
jackie says the ruffles are engulfing her and she looks like a lioness, rawr!
and fashionista addie getting in on the action. :)
tonight matt and frankie went home teaching, lexi and chris went to byd with henderson's, and addie, laney and i ate ice cream at home. i took a diet break this weekend which seemed totally worth it at the time, but i know tomorrow i'm not gonna think was totally worth it.
ahhh, well.
c'est la vie!
