we got up and were ready to get out of the timeshare by 10:30.
only there wasn't a bellhop available till after 11, so we were off to another sloooow start.
we headed south to the cutest little hereford lighthouse...
that i didn't actually get a picture of.
but the grounds were fabulous and laura and i went as far up to the top as we could, since it's still a functioning lighthouse we couldn't go all the way up.
since it was already lunchtime we went gourmet.
from there we drove west to another cute new jersey lighthouse, east point light.
laura and i totally want to do the new jersey lighthouse challenge. anyway, unfortunately the east point lighthouse is being renovated and is only open for tours on the third sunday of the month. and darnit, we were there on the third friday. :(
so we walked and ran and admired.
they had this cute old stone bench set back in the tall brush.
and lots of greenhead flies that gave us quite a trying time!
they plauged our car for over an hour until we had finally killed them/shooed them out the windows.
from there it was homeward bound.
it was already 4 and that means traffic.
it was a pretty drive though, so we enjoyed it.
i even convinced alexis to read 3 chapters of anne of avonlea to me.
she and joseph both decided it was the most boring, ridiculous book ever.
even though they both laughed at all the funny parts.
kids these days.
addie napped and was a sweet little rider.
lanes was about done driving. joseph sung baby beluga and got her to sleep once, but other than that she was not a happy lady. we were all happy ladies when we finally got home at 10.
and that wraps up another fun beach vacation.
