april in december

yesterday we hosted kids day out.

in my ongoing attempt to simplify life i asked a few lovely ladies if they'd like to do a weekly kids day out program and they said yes. :))))

 

other than an early intervention between the fairy and the witch
(the witch was mad at the fairy for hitting and was being mean saying the fairy "is not my friend." we talked it over, they hugged, and all was well. if only all girl interactions could be so easy!)

the day went swimmingly.

we had a couple fun crafts planned but we got a later start than i had planned and then the weather was gorgeous! 70° and i just couldn't keep them all inside.

and they were all seriously so good.

i was so worried about addie not wanting to get on the bus and leave all her friends, but with a little bit of prep work (and maybe a bribe in the form of a peanut butter cup) she was totally fine.

and our carriage home.

yup, 5 kids in a double stroller.

after everyone left i went outside with christian and "pitched" 3 buckets of balls for him until our neighbor came out and then they took turns.

as soon as my baseball duties were relieved i ran to the store for hamburger buns and then we headed to mccombs for burgers and fhe. frankie loved the movie laura showed.

the lesson was on kindness, i hope we will all really will take it to heart.

never gets old

matt stayed home to work on a big paper and have i mentioned that it will be nice to be done with school?

 

addie's had these weird scratches under her eyes for a few days...

no idea what they are.

but she got sent to the nurses office today where she told the nurse that she got scratched at daycare on friday.

we both had a good laugh after i explained to her that addie doesn't go to daycare and she has a really good imagination. she said addie was very sweet and compliant.

awwww, my girls first trip to the nurses office. :) 

i finally finished this this morning...

i had doubts about the blue'ish "f" and i don't like the placement of the "son." i'm gonna let it simmer for a few days and then it will be easy enough to change.

 

this morning we headed over to shelly's for playgroup.

other peoples toys are just so fun.

we had to drag them to the park.

after school christian and i picked up joseph and headed to dorsey park to try to make good on our pitching machine.

unfortunately our long extension cord only had 2 prong holes so we weren't able to set it up.

fail.

the other day addie told me that when she grows she wants to be 2 things.

a rockstar and a knight.

every day she has added to that.

now she'd like to be 5 things. a rockstar, knight, mom, fairy, and a swimmer.
