may day... almost

*i just hate when i've totally got a blog idea ready (in ma head) and then i see that someone else has already done it and i'm just gonna look like a copycat. one of the only famous bloggers i read did a mayday post yesterday, but i figured, what the hey, it's just a title, right? and i totally was planning it all day yesterday, i just never got around to it (along with about 50 other things). such are the trials of a mommy blogger with 3 whole readers!

anywho. sunday was full of churchy fun. church was wonderful. i just loved the conference talk by someone (who i don't remember), quoting someone (who i don't remember), who said that someone (who i don't remember ;) had asked what they do when they go to a boring sacrament meeting and he responded that he didn't know because he'd never been to one. what a wonderful attitude and so true! love it!

after church there was a linger longer, so we lingered. then christian went home teaching for the first time. tony is his companion, so he loves it. :) matt and i went for a bike ride and called that our date for the week (thank you lexi for needing $ and encouraging us!) and then rob and jenna came for a home teaching visit. good sunday.

on monday this little sweetie debuted her latest trick. behold: she holds toys. she is so, so fun and we just love her to pieces.

we also had some excitement when i wandered past the sliding glass door and saw this.
behold: a navy blimp.
when you're home all day with a 3 and 2 year old, you've gotta appreciate the small things.
we had the nelsons, matt, and angel over for a taco bar and fhe that night. our latest idea for fhe is to go in order of topics from the new for the strenth of the youth. we'll each take a turn teaching going in age order. so monday it was matt's turn and he taught a nice lesson on agency. among other things, we learned that if they could meet anyone, lexi and christianna would meet justin bieber, johnna would meet judge judy if the person had to be alive, and abraham lincoln if they could be dead, and christian would meet athena, goddess of wisdom. it was a fun night. :)

yesterday it was warm and nice. the girls and i puttered around here all morning. we had a playdate with rachel scheduled, but it rained early and the playground was wet, so we got a rain check.
after school laura and joseph stopped over for a visit and joseph decided to spend the evening with us. lexi and i took the jolly green giant out for a spin in our neighborhood. we even ventured onto hollywood/leonardtown road, but turned around (and practiced parking) at the smeco and then again at the baptist church. smaaaall steps. and aside from rolling through a stop sign, it went pretty well.

then when we got home, jenna showed up with our latest surprise.
behold: gideon!
gideon (he already came named:), is our new family car. so if someone in the family needs to take a car to seminary and school, gideon would be the car to take. gideon is also a good car for someone to learn to drive in.
and when someone is learning to drive, it is always a good idea to pile in more people than you have seatbelts for and also babies without carseats. but really, we just did a quick loop because we'd already driven for the day.
then joseph, laney, and i went and watched the yankees get creamed. :( not such a good game, but a gorgeous night and good company, so it was still a good night.
and today is a new day, so let's go yankees!
