matt and i've got big plans for our yard this summer. project #2 (project #1 was keeping up plant beds and moving things around so they look nicely) was pulling up the grass around the house to plant some bushes. i haaaate when the grass up against the house gets long, so hopefully this will alleviate that and create less work. not sure that will be the case, but we're going with it!
just getting started
christian mowed the rest of the lawn, matt pulled up patches of grass, and alexis and i beat the excess dirt off of each patch and bagged it. lexi's friend ami was over for awhile, so we put her to work too. slave drivers!
our goal was to do at least one side of the house, but we were hoping to get two sides done. yeah, that was hard work though, so in the end, we were all happy and a little sore with our one side. :)
not sure yet what we'll do in front of the stairs back there... it's all still a work in progress.
and some of the grass we pulled up.
it was so nice working alongside my family. when christian finished mowing, he came and helped us and the little girls were running in and out of the house. (delaney slept, yay!) it was just a happy moment, i love my family so much.
hopefully the next 2 side of the house go as well!
