run

this little sweetie woke up yesterday morning and opened her eyes right away. :) her left eye was pretty swollen still, but she was back to her happy little self, yay.
it was a preschool day, so we kept riley while christina helped out. we had just enough time to eat a quick lunch and then had to take baby d to her pedi to check on her eye. she said she thinks d might have had conjunctivitis too? we'll keep giving her the eye drops and take her to a specialist next week.  totally worth it for a healthy baby. :)
matt made it home with just enough time to eat and head out to his class.
alexis had piano and since johnna lives right in downtown leonardtown, i packed up the girls and the stroller and we went for a run. as i was running i was struck by this cool place that we live. like, 3 miles away from several civil war trails. crazy!
i love the architechture here. and i love, love, love cute little salt shaker houses.
they've been working on this one since we moved here and it's still not done. it's cool though.
the wharf is at the bottom of a pretty good little hill, and don't you know big mama ran, all crazy style with my stroller, all the way down. my shoulders were super tense from holding onto the stroller so tightly and i'm sure i looked quite the fool. whateva.
i ran all around the docks and the girls kept asking to get out. i'm planning a picnic down there as we speak (type). oh, and to add to my crazy mama persona, instead of wearing headphones, i just turned the music on and put my phone in the cup holder of the stroller so that addie could enjoy her new favorite song, party in the usa (miley cyrus, yo!). so, just to get the full picture: chubby mama, double stroller stuffed with 3 little girls, running down hill, blaring miley cyrus. very cool.
the wharf was beautiful, but then i had to go back uphill. :(
i love this, mr. and mrs. chip wood? so southern maryland!
main street, smalltown, usa.
(where there's a party!)
when i got home something wonderful happened. i discovered the key to getting the kids to clean up without being asked. it's for me to stop cleaning. that's right, just stop altogether. our kitchen/dining/family room were trashed. i feel the need to explain myself that 5 hours at baseball one night, then 2 hours at the er, then toting kids around and picking up prescriptions for another 2+ hours another night, then preschool, another dr's appt, and 3 little girls, 2 big kids, and no daddy = not a lot of time (or desire) for cleaning. anywho, alexis came downstairs and said "this place is always a mess!" (okay, it's not really but i'm not arguing about it...) and started cleaning. i was feeding laney and i thought to myself so this is what it feels like to be sitting while people are cleaning around me. and it was delightful. so there you have it. just give up cleaning for a day or two and see what happens.
it reminded me of this story i saw on fb the other day. pretty funny.

and now for the bonus picture. little franks sleeping. with a flip flop. and a gardening glove. :)

You sure are doing a great job of documenting all this fun and crazy stuff. Love it! Glad your little baby is okay. That is so scary!! I think I missed a call from you the other day. And I need to return the favor (or multiple favors) and take your little big girls for a day. Thanks for taking pics of my boys. I kept meaning to text you thank you. I got to have lunch with my hubbie, do some sewing and relaxing. It was great. Thanks again for always being such a self-starter-server. Love ya!

Okay, you have to keep those bonus pictures coming. That totally had me laughing! What a sweet girl! And you are an awesome mama, too, by the way.
