first off - 1200 posts?! whoa!
second off - perfect day continues with our 4th and final stop. keep in mind that we'd been driving off and on for several hours with a newborn, 1-year-old, and 2-year-old. also, i was crammed in the third row seat that i had to maneuver ninja style into, and couldn't even put my feet down, so it was just a little bit uncomfortable. all in the name of the lights, though.

we let the girls meander a lil' bit.
and meander they did.

awwww, yeah!

love this door. love the sun. love the light.
this guy was built just a few years ago. they used to have just an ugly old light on a pole there, but they felt that their town was too classy for that. so they took donations and a man named charles walton donated a hefty sum to honor his brother, derek, who was in the merchant marines and lost at sea in ww2. so both the santa cruz lighthouses have sweet stories.
pacific ocean sand.
it was such a special day. i know lighthouses aren't every one's cup of tea, (although i'm sure i don't know why not) so it meant a lot to me that a & k were willing to spend the day visiting them. although, i will say, kristi tries to deny, but i think she's secretly becoming a lighthouser. it's ok, she can admit it when she's ready. i'll still be here. ;)
i took about 20 shots before i finally got the green light flashing. the first green light beam i've ever seen. sweet.
we were famished after our full day of lighthousing, so after the sun went down and it got chilly we went and grabbed some pizza. the kids did really well and it was a really, really good day.

ps - forgot to mention this, but while in seattle it was revealed to me that my dad thinks i'm a middle aged woman. if i am, that's fine, i'll never deny my age, (35, yo!) i just have never thought of myself as middle aged! it's totally become a joke now, cause it just sounds funny. don't you think?!
