maaaaaaaaall

the kids in maryland seem to get sooo many days off of school!
seems like every time i turn around they have another day off or another early release.
i'm not complaining, just stating a fact. :)
maybe we got just as many days off when i was teaching, but i don't think so.

anyways, on one of their many days off of school (this particular day was a teacher workday) we loaded up the truck and headed to the mall.
i didn't need anything, and heavens knows i don't need any temptations or ideas for new things to buy, so i took the babies to the cute play area.

they had so much fun!
after being cooped up this very cold winter, they just love to play anywhere other than home and the mcdonalds by our house!

as soon as i put frankie down a bunch of little girls came and crawled around with her.
she's so popular.

i just love this one. frankie wants to be like her big sister. :)

frankie was doing just fine but then addie wanted in on the action.
can you guess what happens next?

poor franks.

addie went fishing.
i just love her imagination! it's always working!

this pretty much sums up a lot of my picture taking lately!
silly, a.d.d. kids. :)

big kids had fun, babies had fun, and so mommy had fun.
win-win-win. :)

end of january rando's

my goal was to blog every 3 days. that makes 10 posts per month. for january i posted 8 times, that's pretty good right? i wish all of my resolutions were pretty good, but alas, they are not.
that's okay, it's a new month.
a loooooove month!

and we are doing it up right. the 1st day of valentines happened on our island.

i'm doing the 14 days of valentines for my family and everyday i will put a small treat and note in their mailbox.

they've got mail!

and then we enjoyed dinner on our delightful heart shaped plates atop our delightful valentines placemats.
i love love.

in other, less delightful news, i'm getting my wisdom teeth extracted on thursday.
it's silly how nervous i am about the whole thing.
like, everyone in the world has had their wisdom teeth 'extracted.'
most people don't wait until they are in their thirty's, but you know.
the catalyst for the 'extraction'
(no, i'm not getting paid for every time i say 'extraction,' but if i was i would use the $$$ to pay the $1900 'extraction' bill. now that's an 'extraction' if i ever heard one!)
was last thursday when i had the worst toothache of my life.
i've had a lot of mouth woes.
but this was the worst.
i found out way back when i was preggo with addie that i had a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth and that i really should have them out sooner rather than later.
but i didn't want to so i put it off and off and off.
but last thursday, if i could have gone immediately and had someone (anyone!) pull it out, wide awake and everything, i totally would have.
but 2 dentist visits and $300 dollars later, i settled for the 'extraction' this thursday.
so i'm piecing together the puzzle pieces for how to care for my family while i am recuperating from my 'extraction.'

johnna will watch the girls on thurs morning, then matt will keep them the rest of the day and lindsay will bring dinner.

on friday matt will keep the girls again, but if he needs help or a break he can call sarah or shelly, and mindy will bring dinner. alexis will stay after school for her game and becky will bring her home. and christian will spend the night at anthon's so he can go on his boy scout hike early saturday morning.

then on saturday, when matt leaves for his (mandatory!!!) drill weekend, mindy will get the girls. i'm hoping i'll be able to drive christian to his basketball game at 4, but i might be calling in more favors.

and i'll be all better by sunday, right???
at least i have amazing friends!

oh yes, the day before the toothache to end all toothaches, alexis sprained her ankle.
she fell coming down from a stunt and rolled it the wrong way.
an er visit later and we had crutches and an air splint.
(this was the best pic i could get! i was on the floor taking pictures of frankie and then nonchalantly took one of an unsuspecting lex:)

she's doing much better now, thanks for asking. :)

addie comes down from naptime in all sorts of crazy ensembles.
this afternoon she was wearing two long sleeved striped shirts (not too bad) and her bathing suit bottoms as a skirt. (pretty bad. but funny too)

can you see both of her legs squeezed into one leg of her suit?
she craaaazy!

christian started wearing eyeliner and straightening his hair. and then he stopped wearing eyeliner. (he's still straightening his hair though) i am hoping he does not start again. but if he does i am going to bite my tongue and go with the flow. he's been sooo good lately that i can handle a little make-up.
i think.
(again, this was a sneak shot, you couldn't tell though, right?)

addie started gymnastics again.
i tell her on tuesday night that we need to go to bed early because we have gymnastics in the morning and she says "i love gymnastics!"
that's her latest, she "loves" everything.
i bought her dora underwear and she loved them
i read her a book and she loved it.
looks like she loves love too. :)

anyways, i finally bought her a leotard and skirt to wear.
i know this is more for ballet, but really, what does a 2-year old wear to gymnastics?

"now for a not-silly face addie. less silly, less silly, oh okay."

and those are some random memories from january.
hope you enjoyed, i know we did. :)

addie cakes

i love that kid.
she does something hilarious every darn day!
her latest favorite word is 'disgusting' as in poopy underwear changing. that always gets a "that's disgusting!"
and her favorite phrase is"daddy will fix it." she learned that from nani and, truth be told, i like that phrase too.
she also likes "guess what?" for a long time she would say "guess what?" and when we would say "what?" she would just say "guess what?" again.
that was fun.
but now she always says "santa is coming!" and she opens her big brown eyes even bigger as she says santa.
this morning at the library she told abby, just clear out of the blue "i like your shoes."
and then just kept walking.
her latest favorite books are "nancy nancy" (fancy nancy) and "david's christmas."
(we're still big into christmas over here.)
she is stubborn, stubborn, stubborn but i love her to death anyway.

she loves putting makeup on, and on this day when she offered to help me out with some lip gloss, i just couldn't help but say yes.
can you see it there, all over my mouth and cheek?

i think it's pretty funny how bad i am at these pics.

we're big into pajamas and backpacks too.
class-ey.

addie, oh addie, i just love her so.

date night

with my giiiiirl!

our monthly date night was last week and lu-who picked salsa's to go eat.
actually she picked olive garden but that didn't quite pan out.
and i think salsa's is better anyway.

we talked and goofed off and ate and ate.
and ate.

my camera skills are poopy and all the pictures are dark. :(
but we had two tons of fun acting silly and taking lots of pics.

we went to salsa's.
yuuuummmmm.

when i was preggo, i craved their salsa!
it is sooo good!

"lexi, pose!"

ha, my turn!

then lex got all serious.

who's that hottie?!

and lexi poses again.
hot stuff!

g-o-o-f-y!

"look this way!"

uh-hmmm, there was still lots of texting.

don't you just love digital cameras?!
we would never have taken so many dumb pictures if it weren't for digi-tal!

i love my girl.
she and i kinda started this family, or we were the first members at least.
she's my right hand girl and i just can't imagine life without my lexi-lu.
LoVe!!!
