Matt was off on Friday so we had a date day at home and watched some of our show.
CWS’s aren’t as sweet since Matt works from home 75% of the time, but still sweet.
The girls got out of school early and Adi went to babysit, and Delaney went to dance and we found ourselves home with just Frankie. She loves romcoms, so I proposed a movie night where she could choose a movie with no outside opinions and we enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada with some Christmas cookies. 🎄
Delaney and I were up and on our way by 7:30 Saturday morning to be the first in line for pointe shoe fitting/shopping in Severna Park.
We got there way too early, but it was good that we were there early because by the time they opened there were 4 people in line and we got the best lady for pointe shoes.
She tried on 10 pairs, narrowed down to 5, and finally picked a lovely Russian made pair.
We were also able to buy new ballet shoes and a few other things that it’s nice to see in person.
We enjoyed a delicious Chicfila lunch and made it back into SMC in time for Nutcracker rehearsal at 2, where she had her pointe shoes checked and approved and she is so excited for her first pointe class today! (monday)
I got home and a few minutes later Adi and Frankie headed to the youth activity in White Plains, which they didn’t complain about, so that’s always a bonus.
Matt helped me put away the shed Halloween bin and bring in the Christmas trees and Christmas bin and I organized some garage/shed stuff while he washed cars and raked leaves.
While we were otherwise occupied, Delaney sewed her ribbon and elastic on her pointe shoes. I would have preferred she wait for us, but she was determined and had her notes handy and her sample shoe from Ms. Gasaway so we let her fly.
Yesterday I went to the Calvert Ward Conference and had a lovely, albeit late day. Their church starts at noon, so after a presidency meeting and training plus 2 visits, I made it home at 6:30.
The foliage this year has been top notch and as I’ve found myself driving a lot I say a prayer of gratitude every time. I never take for granted that we live in a hallmark movie location.
Matt had invited Danny over for dinner and together they’d made a hodpodge of brats and sauerkraut and a Spanish style beans and spam concoction. I am not complaining, it was so nice to walk in and sit right down to dinner and Danny is such a sweet guy, he’s easy to have around.
I am definitely working on being less chalant. It's tough though.
And these 2 crack me up! Christian is such a good daddy! He facetimes every night Jeanne is at work and we get to watch Ruby decide not to roll over and mostly not talk. My favorite is when she looks up at her daddy. I can't wait to kiss those big cheekies again soon!
I have Delaney’s Marina song that talks about living la dolce vita in my head and so that’s where I’ll leave our weekend.
