Trip prep weekend and let’s go!

Saturday was spent finishing cleaning and putting a coat of minwax on Frankie’s dresser. We were so happy when our SC crew arrived that afternoon! We went straight to the pool and swam till dinner when we showered the boys and then got them to bed. Lu and Damian took Frankie shopping and pappy and I got to hang out with Henners.

And when your family is traveling light, you play with boxes.

I had stake council on Sunday and came home after Capitol wards sacrament meeting. Lu and crew hung out till after lunch when they headed up to NY with a Laney-bug squeezed into the middle front seat of their truck. We had started a puzzle, and when we finished it that evening we sent them a picture.

Matt had a few meetings Monday so I had signed Frankie up for one last private session before Kai heads back to Utah.

They asked me to come in and take some videos.

I love a hard working gal!

I walked again while she worked and then when we got home Matt and I went for a quick swim to cool off.

We loaded up the last of the jolly green giant, and off we headed for the first leg of family reunion Summer in New York!

Summer days (late July)

Adi loves a heatless curl. She never met a roller she didn’t like and sometimes the results are better than others. 🤣

Also, we finally got her birthday vanity all figured out, put together, old one returned, and Amazon credit for our troubles spent. It was a fiasco but she’s happy with it so it’s all good. And Frankie’s got dibs for when Adi moves out. 🥹

I had an area RS conference planning meeting and it’s always interesting how different stakes work. We *still* don’t have a date nailed down, so not much to do yet, but hopefully soon. It’s hard not to be in charge. 😬 And it’s also hard to be in charge. 😬

Thursday brought an early morning presidency meeting. It’s been awhile and it was good to regroup. Also on the agenda - cavity fillings for Frankie and Delaney and it went better than anticipated. They were both champs and we got done earlier than expected.

Why 2 of Frankie and none of Lanes? I’m sure I don’t know.

We ran some pre-trip errands then I met up with Nola for lunch. We chatted for hours and it was wonderful and I’m still mad at her for moving away.

That night I went to a game night for her at Rachael’s. We played a few new to me games and I stayed way too late, but it was fun.

Adi had cramps on Friday and I was able to get this cute shot of Delaney covering her with a blanket. Sissy’s taking care of each other always gets me. 🥰

On Friday afternoon Frankie had a private lesson with Kai. She’s working really hard on her back handspring and she’s so close. I braved the high 90°’s and went for a beautiful walk.

We swam and shopped and packed and babysat and got ready for the babes to come the next day!

Home again, no jiggity

 *posted late because no internet*

We got home yesterday and I’m not happy about it. I do love being home, it’s the back to school part that’s got me like 😫. Maybe because it’s Adi’s senior year? I can’t put my finger on it, but even the promise of routine isn’t helping my feeling of impending doom.

Anyways, church was great. We had a sickness going around the family reunion and I’m in the draining phases, so still not 100%, so I went to our ward with the fam. We also came home to no internet, so 🎉 for us.

Adi made quesadillas for dinner and we had a lovely quiet day of rest. I finally registered D for ballet with 4 classes(!) and marked the school calendar in my planner and phone. I looked over our week and did not make a menu, but I can save a few things for tomorrow. 🤣

Lest I be a total Debbie Downer, I’m so grateful for the 2 weeks we had with the family. It was fabulous and school will be fine. It’s fine. We’re fine. .
