Frankie and I had a date at Salted Scoop on Saturday. Pumpkin ice cream is the best and the girls are fun, so I am thoroughly enjoying our dates.
And Leonardtown is so adorable all the time, but especially all decked out for fall. We talked about how she’s doing socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually and it was time well spent.
That night was the wards Haunted Mansion Halloween party. I made oatmeal crème pies and Boursin chicken noodle soup that I majorly doctored up because I didn’t have half the ingredients, but that turned out pretty tasty.
Delaney is the grim reeper this year. Her scythe was the cause of some maybe playful maybe not bantering and wrestling and then ended up getting broken when a friend was holding it? Many times throughout the evening I heard Delaney’s name shouted, but that child gives as good as he gets and they looked like they were having fun so i let it ride. This one’s giving me a run for my money, except with me where she’s the most delightful girl. She tells me almost all the things - she’s 12 and I’ve been around the block enough times to know even in the really good relationships kids don’t share everything. And also the other girls tell me lots of things about each other and it’s almsot like they don’t even realize what they’re doing. And i never reveal my sources, so hopefully they don’t ever figure it out. Anyways, a tween that’s sweet at home but not outside the home is new to me and I remind myself frequently that tweens and teens change all the time and she’ll learn to be delightful outside of our home someday.
While we were cleaning up I saw these girls being the cutest so of course I climbed on a chair and grabbed a picture.
They are pretty good with all my picture taking, they’re being trained well.
The party was wonderful, Alecia does such a good job and thinks through everything so it goes smoothly and everyone had fun.

Sunday was the Capitol Ward Conference, so I got to see Elizabeth and Grace and hear Bishop Gibbons and President Boyd speak. Bishop Gibbons was my High Councilor, so we’re buddies. After church I met with their RS presidency for a presidency meeting and then Barbara and I visited 2 sisters. I love ministering to the sisters in our stake and spending time with my President’s, so even though it was a long day, it was a good one.
Adi made garlic tomato chicken and naan for dinner, both were delicious, and I got to share my day with them. And then Brenda and Tony Frey stopped by, so that was a fun surprise. Matt and the girls cleaned the kitchen and it was a really lovely Sunday.
Delaney and I have a goal to learn about a new flower everyday, so this one is from the fresh flowers I bought to take to organization training. It’s a crested celosia or coxcomb. I love flowers but am petty remedial about them, so this has been a fun little goal.
