seattle post #4 - july 19th-july 20th - forks edition!

and on to forks!
forks did it up! they have made their little town a really fun tourist spot. there was lots to see and everyone was very friendly.

woo-hoo!

we got up early,
(but it's never too early for addie to walk the cat walk!)
(or for franks to look cute)
and headed out to the forks chamber of commerce/visitors center, which just so happens to be twilight themed.

little known forks fact, it's not only the twilight capitol of the world,
 (see?)

but also the logging capitol of the world.
 (see?)

so we decided to help with some logging before our self guided tour.
next we saw...
inside was completely decked out in anything twilight you could think of.
the lady that was working was an advisor to stephanie meyer and had the signed thank you note to prove it.
alexis as dr. cullen...
addie as dr. cullen...
aaand not to be left out, your truly as dr. cullen.
(dad declined to play the good doctor, and i'm sure i don't know why!)
lots and lots of visitors to this once sleepy little town!
next stop was bella's employer, the forks outfitters.
franks enjoyed wandering the store.
(she loves shopping!)
addie enjoyed introducing bucky moose-tucky to some new friends.
and we all enjoyed the awesomely kitschy ambiance.
bella's nametag. :)
next we headed over to bella and charlie swan's house.
it was a private residence that allows you to take pictures, and all they ask is for a small donation to be put in their box out front. we contributed a dollar. :)
forks mini hospital even has a reserved spot for dr. cullen.
aaand a quick trip to the high school, that looks nothing like the high school in the movie.
we had been following this nice lady for a few stops already this morning and finally at the high school we got a chance to talk to her. my dad had actually almost hit her little red sports car (ahem, a few times, ahem) so we all laughed about that.
just a bunch of friendly, dorky twilight fans.
one of the many, many, many cute twilight gift shops.
as referenced above with our new found friend that we (ahem, gramps, ahem) almost crashed into.
at least he was being a good sport about it. :)
and at another shop, i found this cute sweater that everyone vetoed.
in the end i chose a mustard yellow hoodie.
i still think the rainbow one is cuter.
she loves to read. little sassafrass with her legs all crossed!
because who can resist?
not me!
or alexis!
and then on to the forks police department to visit charlie.
"take it quick before we get in trouble!"
addie decided she didn't want to be a deputy anymore.
she wanted baby sister to.

then to the cullen's house that is actually a very cute bed and breakfast.

every day they leave a note, written by esme, that explains where they are that day.

for a small price they allow tourists to come inside and see dr. cullen's office and their wall of graduation caps.
the office.
i'm never too busy to write a quick script.
wierd little shadow box type figurines.
wall'o'graduation caps.
after all the fun twilight spotting, we were all famished. so we went to the diner suspected by dad and i to be charlie's fav.
lexi thought it was a different one, but after we went to dinner there that night, i think even she agreed that we were right.
after a deliciously greasy lunch, it was back to the hotel for naps.
and i don't just mean the babies, ifyouknowwhatimean.
after naps it was off to the res' for some jacob black spotting.
so we thought we knew the way out to la push. i'm not sure why we didn't get out the gps earlier, or maybe i just couldn't figure out how to find the city center in la push, i can't really remember.
anyways, we drove and drove and didn't come upon any signs, which we thought strange.
finally i got the gps working, and there was our little car, driving further and further away from la push.
i'm not sure why, but i thought it was sooooo funny!
still makes me chuckle. :)
the drive out to la push was very cute as well!
the sign entering la push.
and the other side of it as you are leaving.
we finally made it out to first beach. it was cold and drizzly (surprised?) so we didn't stay long.

just long enough for some fun pictures.

addie looooves bucky.
as we were leaving, we were saying how cute it was that forks had all the houses of the main characters, and how easy it would be if someone made jacob's house.
when what did our wandering eye's behold?
el casa de' black!
with a motorcycle out front, perfect!
we ate dinner at the other diner in forks, the one that wasn't charlie's diner and then it was off to bed.
that was a rough night for frankie, a night that ended after 3 wakeful hours with frankie taking a teaspoon of benadryl. you gotta do what you gotta do!
the next morning we left cute little forks behind.
everything was so simple, but it really was fun to drive around to all the sites. they offer tours, but we had a good time just taking our time and i'm pretty sure we saw everything there was to see.
we had a really good time

the drive home was beautiful, but very wind-y. i was super tired (see the 3 wakeful hours as described above), so i layed down, but that made me feel more sick. let's just say we had to make an emergency half hour stop in a walmart parking lot. :(

nothing could deter me from having lunch at our cute little diner though!
so here we were again!
so fun!
our dollar bill is right in the middle.
franks often looks disgruntled.

they had a large marine flag for veterans to sign.
can you see smilin' jack's signature?
the food gets a c-, but the atmosphere was definitely an a+.
we recommend it!
and then the ferry home.
papa and addie hung out and addie got her own cute photo shoot.

favorite!
fun, fun, fun trip!
we highly recommend the port angeles/forks/la push visit!
