seattle post #3 - july 18th - port angeles edition!

lex wasn't totally thrilled to be spending her whole summer in seattle. i think she ended up having fun, but she was bummed that she would be missing all her friends all summer long., so, to butter her up, i told her we would go up and tour forks, of twilight fame. then i invited dad along and we were set!
*the crew before starting our adventure.
we decided to go up through port angeles (to get the whole twilight experience, you know!) and to take the ferry. i don't know who was more excited about the ferry, addie or papa. :)
*getting ready to board.
 enjoying the salty air.
so pretty!
just a funny shot. little kids are so silly. :)
papa and bucky moose-tucky on their grand adventure.
frankie was asleep as soon as we got on the ferry, so i volunteered to stay with her while the others explored. then when frankie woke up, we went to go find everybody, but they were already on their way back to the car.
the drive was so so so pretty! and just as i was in need of a restroom break, we happened upon this little restaurant. it was so cute!
because who doesn't love giant hamburgers and sodas?
the inside was even cuter! they had dollar bills covering every wall and the ceiling.
since we weren't hungry, we decided to stop there on our way home.
(so more of this place to come!)
gruuumpy!
a few years ago, my mom had taken us on a trip up to sequim and we stopped by a bunch of lavender farms and i just remember loving it. so we made sure to stop by a few lavender farms on our way. this one was especially cute.
3 generations.
(my dads mom was also frances:)
lexi loves her papa.

we decided to try some lavender lemonade and it was delish!!!
we arrived in port angeles in the early evening.and with plans to eat at the bella italia, the restaurant where edward took bella after the infamous alley incident. but it didn't open until 6, so we had a few hours to kill. not to worry, there are always lots of photo ops!
we found an alley. in port angeles. hey, it could be the one.
at the visitors center.
and picking the noses of random statues.
traveling with 3-year-olds is hard and i found myself saying over and over again "she's just tired," "she's just hungry," and/or "she's just grumpy." we are very much creatures of habit, and to have our whole routine out of whack was tough on the little girls. and their mama.
addie had missed her nap and was having a rough time of it. this was one of her many time-outs.
and finally, after the apology. poor baby.

we climbed up this tower thingy and addie loved that it was like rapunzel's tower.

 bella's bookstore in port angeles.
and finally dinner at the restaurant.
the food was good and it was all very cute. port angeles didn't play up the twilight aspect of their town as much as forks, but it was still fun.
and then finally to bed that night (in forks!).
we were all pooped.
