Christmas Eve 2025

We went to the Zobell’s annual Christmas Eve soup lunch. We had heard they might not have it and we were really gonna miss it! Glad it stayed.

I read somewhere that instead of a hostess gift, taking nice pictures during an event is a wonderful gift. I’m still working on the nice picture part of that, but I’ve been trying to get pictures at events.
Alli came down and made us the most delicious and fancy Christmas Eve dinner! I really thought that was gonna be our gift, but she was feeling very generous this year! Just as I’m patting myself on the back about pictures I’m realizing I missed getting pictures of our yummy dinner! 🙄🤦‍♀️

She made prime rib with applesauce horseradish and another creamy sauce I don’t remember. Carmelized Brussel sprouts and twice baked potato’s and bread and a yummy salad. And then crème brûlée for dessert! My fav! It was very good and very decadent and I’ve never made prime rib in my life, so very fun.

After, we drove around to see the Christmas lights. And your surprise Carolee’s neighbor with the light show doesn’t do it anymore. Or they moved.
I looked up the Jingle Trail and we hit some of those houses.
One year the girls and I were driving, Matt wasn’t with us, and I opened the sunroof and let them hang out, cranked the heater and the Christmas music and we slowly drove through LG belting out our fav Christmas carols enjoying the lights and it was magical.
We let them do that again on Christmas Eve and it was fun, but a little less magical. Sometimes the magic is tough to recreate.
We fell off the wagon on our names of Christ candles, so we lit them all and read Luke 2 and talked about the names of Jesus.
And watched The Nativity.
And then there were pictures!
Hoods’R’Cool
And so are we.
Even though we have all bigs, we still waited for them to go to bed and filled their stockings.
Our Santa gift was the Christmas movie theater experience. Family Santa gifts are trickier as kids get older and taking this crew to the movies is pretty spendy.
Because the baby still wants to put out Santa’s cookies. ❤️❤️❤️ And I’ll let the baby do that as long as she wants!
