It was a busy and wonderful weekend! But first, let’s talk about last week. On Tuesday we got a phone call that our delayed carpet showed up. She said they could install as early as the next day. I was all like yessssssss! So we worked to move all the seminary tables and chairs and scriptures and garbage (literally, not figuratively- teenagers are sometimes little piglets 🤣) and prepared the basement for glorious new carpet! But first, Henry love.
On Tuesday Jeanne let me know that her family would appreciate a dinner after her mom’s memorial. I had offered that as she planned her moms memorial, so I planned for that for Friday and her baby shower Saturday.
On Wednesday as they were installing the softest new carpet ever we got the craziest big rainstorm! To say I was anxious would not be a lie. We’ve made several more changes to mitigate the possibility of flooding, but twice bitten and all that. And Delaney still loves playing in the rain, in case anyone was wondering.

The carpet guys worked all day and taaa-daaaa! So pretty and soft and yummy smelling! We love it!

While D was at ballet I went to a million stores and bought all the food and baby shower supplies we’d need. D and I got home after 9 and the seminary crew was already in bed, so even though they offered to help, I declined and then I spent the next hour unloading and putting away and then, because I’m a dear lamb wife I set up the seminary tables on our nice new carpet too. And Henner’s love. I just can’t, he’s so happy and so precious.

Christian drove to Lexi’s house on Wednesday and sent me this. ❤️ she’s a good halfway point between his house in Alabama and ours here in Maryland.

They drove up together on Thursday, which I was so glad they were able to keep each other company for the drive. I spent Thursday happy as a clam bringing all our basement stuff from the garage to its rightful home in the basement. I’m not being sarcastic either, it makes me so happy to put things where they go and organize, and because I went up and down the stairs so many times I didn’t even have to work out, I met my move goal quite handily.

Jeanne had a rough day preparing for her mom’s memorial so I gave her big hugs when she arrived, and then when Alexis, Henry, and Christian arrived at 10 we all caught up and chatted. And this happy momma had all 5 of her babes home again!
