10 whole months - by frankie

it's been a good month. :)
i've been on the phone a lot lately.

busy, busy, busy.

some mornings addie comes into my room.
some mornings she gets in my crib with me.
some mornings look like this.

my mom keeps taking pictures of my feet.
so here's what they usually look like.
i'm always losing my socks. :)

sometimes i have to make my own fun.
and yes, that diaper had been used.
waste not, want not.

wipies are another favorite.

my mess.

i like to help my mom unload things.

but sometimes i just play with the toys we've got.

i am seriously expanding my food horizons.
oh, and anytime someone tries to take a picture, i try to hold them.

my moms been trying to get me to drink out of this thing.

i just chew on it and give it back.
no thank you.

cereal...

yummmm.

i've been hating baths and only staying in long enough to get washed (and not happily i might add).

but on this rare occasion, i was actually having fun.

since i've been so much more mobile lately, i've had a few accidents.

i call this one,' jabba the hut.'

i learned how to crawl up stairs.

but after about 2 steps, i get scared.

one day i climed up a few steps, but then i couldn't bare to go any further so i held on and cried.

and cried.

and cried.

and then i had to spend some time getting comforted.

but then i started getting better about stairs.

i still only go up 2 or 3 though.

easy does it.

i get dressed up. a lot.

oh, and the bows on my head?

still going strong.

sometimes i like it.

but sometimes...

see?

sometimes getting dressed up is nice.

i was sick a lot this month.

i did a lot of sleeping and cuddling.

we didn't take many pictures.

(surprisingly.)

but we did take a few.

that's my blankie.

and that's my mommy.

i've been practicing editing my pic's and i figured i would start with some free software before i spend any money. i have a friend that likes piknik so i played with that a little.

i'm mommy, and i'm happy

addie's been on an introduction kick lately.

she talks to any random stranger that happens to our door.

"that's frankie," she'll say pointing up at the little chunck superglued to my hip.

and if our visitor comes in for awhile they usually get a "this is my mommy," thrown in there too.

the other night the missionaries came over for dinner.

half way through our chicken tortilla soup, addie started her introductions.

"that's daddy, and he's happy," she said.

"that's bubba, and he's happy."

"that's frankie, and she's happy."

and on it went.

and you know what?

girlfriend knows what she's talking about, we are happy.

in the roller coaster that is life, we are going up.

or are we going down?

i think the down part is more fun.

whatever it is, we are a happy family.

and i am enjoying every delicious bit of it!

and it's not just because everything is super easy right now.

the sick bug has hit our family and just won't leave.

after 3 weeks of addie being sick with runny nose and off and on fevers, i finally took her to the dr. poor girls got herself a double ear infection.

chris and i spent some time at the er on friday too.

he jammed his finger playing basketball at school, but thankfully it's not broken.

it's still ridiculously cold outside and i just payed a $600 propane bill.

even though we're dreaming of a few fun trips, nothing is concretely in the works.

and we don't have visitors coming for another 2 monthes.

(march is officially grandpa month!)

but we are happy.

so, so, so happy.

and as we have to go through the bad to appreciate the good, i am so appreciating the good!

opposition in all things.

in other news.

matt took his brand new snowboard up to whitetail for a day of snowboarding. he got a rockin' deal through the navy, and had a wonderful time.

christian had his first basketball game on saturday. they won by 10 points and even though chris didn't get any baskets, he played a good game.

alexis had a group of friends over last night to watch some fav movies: baby mama, and the proposal. doesn't get much better.

frankie has achieved my latest goal for her, the wave. the wave is only a hand up, kind of like a queen. but she does it when we're saying hello and goodbye and i call that a wave.

and addie is finally not looking so much like death anymore.

and me?

i'm just mommy, and i'm happy.

boys fun

matt and christian went up to whitetail, pa for snowboarding a few weeks ago (and on the first day of the season).

i love that they love to snowboard together. i remember the first time they went together and how little christian was and how i worried.
that matt wouldn't have a good time with a little boy slowing him down.
that christian wouldn't have a good time trying to keep up.
now i don't worry.
they are a good pair. they have their system worked out and it works for them.

matt ranted and raved about christian's photo taking abilities. he said that he rarely gets good pictures of himself snowboarding and went on and on about what a good job christian did taking pics of him.

now, after 2 years of renting, matt has bought himself a new snowboard.
there are big plans going on in this house.

i think she's got it!

addie totally surprised me in this afternoon video about a fit, a tv show, and a birthday.

this is my stubborn girl that never performs on command!
and i just started working her birthday on sunday.
genius.

and as evidenced on the video, we are in the sick house. my poor little babies
(none of the big ones have it yet)
are sick, sick, sick. coughing every few minutes.
and most decidedly not sleeping through the night.

in other ramblings, i'm happy lately.
and it's not because my resolutions are going perfectly either.
i'm doing pretty good on most, but alas, save for one small rainy sunday walk, i haven't exercised at all.

aaand we were gonna try to do less house clothes
(old comfy clothes that are too good for goodwill, not good enough to wear outside the house)
and more full on getting dressed and going out.

but my little sickies are going on 3 days of house clothes and house staying.
we even had to cancel a playdate. :(

it's nap time and mama's got some couponing to do.
i stayed up late last night purging my coupon binder of expired money.
i haven't couponed in forever and i'm feeling the itch.

so, goodbye from the sick house.
