sunday was the Super Bowl. our mighty seahawks took on the patriots. t'was a really good game, but the hawks made some fatal errors in the last few minutes of the game and lost. still hurts. ;)
i had wanted to invite people to come watch with us but just couldn't get my act together to do it. finally on saturday i sent out a quick text and we ended up with a really nice lil' party. there was food all over the island and on every available counter space. it.was.awesome.
we had subs, chips and dips, shrimp cocktail, buffalo wings, sweet potato fries, curly fries (as arden is modeling), spam sushi, veggies, rice crispy treats, cookies, fruit pizzas, and brownies. it was delicious!
i had to do some sweet talking, but i finally convinced matt and chris to move the couches from the front room into our family room and then we put them in rows, movie theater style. i thought it worked out really well and everyone had a comfy place to watch the game.
the kids ran and played and ate and screamed in the basement and it was all good and fun.
we started at 4 and most friends stayed till the game ended around 10:30. it was a late night and my kitchen (and basement) looked like a bomb had gone off in them, but it's always fun to host. every once in awhile. ;)
and we'll just have to do it again next year when the seahawks redeem themselves.
