saturday

daddy had to work the navy gig this weekend. :/ laney is still pretty sick, and addie is fighting off some congestion, so bubba watched the girls and this little soccer star and i headed out to her 10 game alone.

every week she takes awhile to warm up. she generally stands like this for about half the game.

she's so timid, it's cute.

but for some reason, she loves being goalie! and her coaches are amazing and sooo patient! think of coaching a team of clueless 4-year-olds. herding cats, seriously. but anyway, she was put in as goalie about halfway through the first half.

she doesn't do a lot as goalie either. she just kinda stands there and watches balls roll by. :)

and then she went in and played!

frankie playing is basically just her frolicking around. and if the ball happens to come near her, she'll kick it, but she doesn't seek it out. there she is running by herself on the left side of the pic.

happy girl! i am so proud that she hasn't given up. it's hard for her, she's timid and nervous, but she keeps trying and i think thats a great quality to have. we pep talk and promise and lend lucky headbands to encourage her, but once at the game, it's all up to her. proud of her.

when we got home i saw that addie had left me two notes on their valentine mailboxes. this one says " mom, we all love you." :))))

poor laney looked pretty pitiful all day. her nose is constantly running and her eyes were watery today too. she will call me and point to her nose for me to wipe it. today she would point to her nose, then each eye. hate when littles are sick.

when i got on the big computer i saw google's home page and called the girls to show them. it's laura ingalls' birthday! i didn't tell the girls and they guessed who it was right away. we're on book 5 and still loving it!

we stayed inside all day, which was unfortunate because come to find out it was actually a nice day. #sickfamilyprobz
as i was taking the girls up to their bath i noticed the sunset. i only caught the tail end, but it was gorgeous!

i loved the way the golden light reflected off the houses at the end of the street.

tonight i did my classic saturday night workathon to get my 10 weekly google hours. i.hate.doing.that. lanes slept till 5, so she stayed up with me. i had these blankets on my chair and when i went to get her socks, she had climbed on and covered herself up. she thought she was hot stuff!

we also watched shrek, slave drove the girls (they picked up the basement, their room, and the family room) and chris went to brenna's. :)
