presidents day hijinx

mini-matt found a marker. it's okay though, because "it was an accident and i'm really, really, really sorry." accident my left foot. she's lucky she's cute. and she's #5, soooo.

we are eagle court of honor planning over here. that entails requesting congratulatory letters from famous people. the only problem is that christian gets the mail. so this letter addressed to "eagle scout christian" could not be ignored, even though i told him he shouldn't open it, but should wait to be surprised. he got a letter from the pope, ya'll! his first one.

we spent a lot of our monday doing science experiments for the science fair that was supposed to be today, but has now been postponed due to snow. addie's project was "can our eyes trick our taste buds," so we needed 20 subjects to taste test apple juice's dyed different colors. we headed across the street for test subjects just after the snow started and it was so pretty that we had to take a picture.

i told them to run down the street, but addie heard "run across the street" apparently.

frankie got it! and guess who got 8"? smc! we got a call monday night that school for tuesday was cancelled, yay!!! today is wednesday and we're still cancelled, yay!

i stayed up till 1am monday night blogging my heart out. at 1:30 i heard laney call "daddy! daddy, i throwed up!!!" we sprang into action as she told us how she throwed up and it was so "scawy." she was all excited to come to the sick bed (floor) in our room, just like addie and frankie had. addie had only thrown up 2 or 3 times and was done, chris too, so we were really hoping laney's version of this bug would be the same. it wasn't. she pulled a frankie, up every 30 minutes throwing up, poor baby. i hadn't slept at all, so it was a looooong night. thankfully, the snow made it easy for matt to decide to take a sick day, which was totally legit because sleeping less than 4 hours and waking up every 30 minutes with a sickie doesn't make one very productive at work the next day.

thankfully, daddy was home, so he took the biggins out to play and i stayed inside with this little sickie. she wanted to take a bath, but then she just kind of laid there, lethargic. she never threw up again, but she was afraid to eat and really not feeling well all day. after her bath she laid in bed and intermittently watched tv and slept. she didn't eat much all day, but i am happy to report that she is feeling better today. chris advertised on fb, so after helping matt shovel our driveway, he was able to shovel 3 neighbors driveways. he was sore and tired, but it was a productive day and he made some $$$.

and as a flashback, with all this science projecting, i found this old picture of lexi with her award winning science fair project, circa 1st grade. after her project and before the science fair, i had headed to seattle to scout out a job and apartment, so this was a nanny hairdo and outfit, just fyi. :)
