Check ups

frankie had her 2-year and delaney her 2-month check-up on wednesday.
i hit my head and scheduled their appointments for 2:30... why would i ever schedule an appointment for that close to nap time???

so then i had to wake everyone up which is always a terrible thing.

franks, reluctantly getting weighed in.

she weighs 26 lbs and is 33 3/4 inches tall.

about 50th percentile for weight.

we make quite a commotion where ever we go. people stop to look and to comment. most just look and smile and say how cute the girls are. others look with pity. some look at me like i've done lost my mind. and some come right out and tell me so. it's odd to me, but i'm getting used to it. and most people are really helpful and kind.

anywho, the dr's office was no exception. people stared at us and parted to let us through the hallways as if we were parting the red sea. they even called other dr.'s and nurses into our little room to admire laney's hair bow.  amy asked me if i was known through all the land for my baby hair bow gluing. i only hope so. ;)

so here they are in happier times...

and then there were some dark days...

and that was before they even got shots!!!

poor laney got 3 shots and an oral immunization.

that 2-month appointment is brutal!

she weighs 11.6lbs, 24 inches tall, and her head is 15.5 inches.

(50th, 90th, and 50th percentiles, respectively)

just for reference, frankie weighed 13.7lbs and addie 11.9lbs at their 2-month appointments.
everybody looked great and we had a pretty nice visit.

then we had to get downstairs and prick frankie's finger to test for lead.

she was not happy.

she kept pulling at the gauze on her finger and before we'd even left the office she had pulled it off.

i got the big girls happy meals and came home and fed delaney.

i think she lost some trust though cause the rest of the day she slept with one eye open. ;)
