friday morning started off with seminary and then letter pancakes.
that afternoon alexis went over to mccombs so she could go to a fun dance at church. the rest of us went to a surprise party for kristen. on our way we stopped off at wentworth nursery to buy some plants for the side of our house that we got done last week.
while we were there, addie picked a flower (come on, addie!) and then climbed up on this bench and posed. so i did what every good mama would do.
snap!
the party was fun. kristen came a little late so we had lots of time to visit before things got moving. these 2 besties played together for a little while. can't you tell how much fun they had???
looks like their mug shots!
after everyone ate, rich "roasted" kristen.
among other things, he gave her a bib, birthday hat, and depends. it was cute.
on saturday morning chris, laney, and i headed over to chancellors for the opening day baseball ceremony.
i love, love, love spring and the start of all these fun sports! it's not too hot yet and everyone is excited to be outside. so fun!
our st marys american little league yankees!
after that we ran home, fed delaney, and then i ran to take chris to mitchells/aina's to do some yard work and earn money for their high adventure camp.
they raked leaves, spread mulch, and cleared branches.
and came home nice and tired and sore. :)
i am so thankful to the mitchells and ainas for giving the boys the opportunity to work for their camp. and best of all, having that opportunity not come from their parents.
christian had a great day and i know he felt good about himself and the work he was able to do.
while he was there, we were at the church helping spring clean.
while we were there we just had to get a picture with these alexi'. (alexis x 3)
we've never know so many alexis', it's so fun. :)
after we came home, we worked planting the bushes we bought.
it's a family affair!
(except for lexi, who went over to robins to watch titanic on the 100th anniversary of it's sinking)
we got 2 blueberry bushes and 2 mini red kiwi bushes.
i'm stupid excited about having berries at the ready!
it's the little things in life. :)
while we were working we heard a magical music...
our first ice cream truck of the year!
I said "matt!" and he said "my wallets in the car!"
then i taught addie how to wave at the truck to get it to come over. :)
so many choices!
addie ended up with a tweety with bubble gum eyes. (of course)
franks chose the always sensible ice cream sandwich.
ice cream trucks are so fun!
that night we all went over to mccombs with the armours for bbq'd chicken and smores.
we had a fun time visiting and then watched the vow on their big projector.
at least most of us did.
those of us with a 3 yr old, whiny 2 yr old, and very whiny 2 month old watched half of the vow and then went home to put babies to bed. sweet laura brought the big kids home later. :)
matt's birthday is really today, but since he left out of town today (lucky!), we celebrated yesterday. at least we celebrated food wise, which is the most important aspect of any birthday (at least in my mind). i made puff pancakes with homemade whipped cream and strawberries for breakfast and then made dinner so it would be all ready when we got home. christian figured out how to set the timer on our oven and it all worked swimmingly.
matt and josh are new ht companions, so matt requested they come over. we had lasagna, bread, salad and then better than shopping cake for dessert.
christian made me put all 43 candles on.
but then he was nice and put them all on the same side so matt stood a chance to blow them all out. :)
and he did!
this chick was pretty whiny the whole time.
after dinner the boys went home teaching, the kids played, we visited, it was a great time.
today is gonna be hot.
i mentioned to addie that at some point today we could get swim suits on and run through the sprinkler.
5 minutes later, here she was:
no kidding, i looked out and that's how she was laying.
she's a very conscientious 3 year old though, a few minutes after this pic she asked for sun block.
i love that little random girl!
(on a random side note, driving in the car this weekend she announced that she likes horses and disco. good to know, addie!)
never a selfish girl, she hooked little sister up fancy nancy style too.
we enjoyed our morning juice on our nice deck with all of our (read: excessive) nice patio furniture.
i put frankie's suit on her and turned on the sprinkler, but addie made it through twice and was done, and frankie just whined being near the water, so we came inside for lunch.
then frankie became her own sprinkler. :(
this girl is t-r-o-u-b-l-e.
but still pretty sweet.
this girl rolled over this weekend. i've been trying to be in denial about it, but she just won't stop.
so here she is, arm still tucked under, fresh from the roll.
and this girl put "lipstip" all over her face. because why stop at just your lips?
now it's naptime.
ps - i <3 naptime. :)
