Temple time

On Friday we took the girls to the temple where we were sealed. They were, how shall I say this… unimpressed.

Seattle is pretty retro. They also only have one shower and did not give socks for those performing baptisms. These bougie girls have been to lots of temples and our vintage temple didn’t stand up to their strict scrutiny. Even though there was some grumpiness, I love being in the temple with this crew. President Nelson said to take our kids to the temple, so we try to every chance we get.

When we got back they relaxed in the jacuzzi. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a non-public jacuzzi and theirs is *nice.* I want one!

That afternoon Matt wanted to go hang out with grandpa who was sick, and I wanted to get a walk in so we decided to walk the 4’ish miles to grandpas house. We didn’t want to walk on the main road sidewalk cause it’s so loud so we took a shortcut to the power line trail only we got there too soon and had to traverse a steep hill and cross the May Creek.

It might not look like much, but the hill was steep enough that someone has tied a fat rope to use to repel down. And the creek is at least 10 feet wide and the log I was made to balance on to cross over would have resulted in a 5+ foot fall into the “creek” of freezing cold water. It was all precarious and exhausting.

I do love a good adventure though. And Mt. Rainier behind us! (above my head)

We were terrible planners and as soon as we got to grandpas we visited for a few minutes then realized it was dinner time, so we ordered pizza and had Ken take us back to Mike and Cami’s.

We loved staying with them. We stayed up late every night watching Dateline and/or talking about alllll the things. I truly love and appreciate my in-laws, I feel so blessed for the family I was born into and married into.
