We enjoyed our island market brekkie and hit the road for a ferry ride to San Juan Island Wednesday morning. Thankfully Uncle Ken owns a candy van that we could borrow so we could all ride together.
Wednesday was warmer than Tuesday, but still chilly.
People have left puzzles on some of the tables on the ferry so as you ride you can enjoy a puzzle, and boy did I. It was a lovely ride. And I got to meet a lovely homeopathic farmer lady that came to puzzle with me and we chatted till we got to our island.
First stop was the Lime Kiln Lighthouse and she’s a cutie!
Grandpa and I went inside only to find it’s a whale watching station. There was one lady standing at the window with binoculars and another one working on the laptop to see if they could hear the whales approaching with their sonar devices. As soon as she heard them we all went to the windows to look and I spotted three whales coming our way! I was so proud of myself for being the first to spot them! 🤣
I ran out to gather my family as the crowd came to watch.
It was incredible! For 30 minutes we watched them swimming all around us! They never jumped out of the water, but they played and splashed and we saw boys and girls and it was *perfect* timing and a perfect birthday gift to Matt!
It was some kind of cold down by the water. Before the whales showed up I asked the lady there when they do lighthouse tours and she told me not till after Memorial Day and that I really wouldn’t want to go up that day anyway because it was so cold. She doesn’t know me at all. 🤣 I did tell her I wouldn’t mind the cold, but she didn’t offer to take me up. 👎🏼
A+ for a lighthouse and whale watching combo.
Adi had been down by the beach and told me there was lots of sea glass and honestly it felt like my birthday too.
I love everything about the beach.
Happy happy.
Delaney loves trees like I love lighthouses. She always wants to climb. Oh, and she’s also v gangsta.
Our pretty Adi.
And our pretty Frankie.
Adi and Delaney were holding hands as we walked back to the car and I just can’t with these 3. They are so fun, especially when they’re nice to each other.
