On Tuesday we met up with grandpa for our Orcas Island trip. We drove 2 hours to Anacortes to catch the ferry and enjoyed the beautiful dock as we waited.
We tried putting my phone on the table with a timer. 🤷♀️
I’ve had worse walking scenery. ❤️
Adi and I went down to the beach to look for treasures.
The girls remember my mom packing a little cooler full of these and they love them and always sucker me into them by saying “oh! Nanny loved these!”
I ❤️ ferries! And really anytime we can be on the water, even when it’s so so cold.
The way Matt’s sitting. 🤣 He actually wasn’t feeling great and had a rough night of sleep but took some DayQuil and pushed through. Delaney also started to not feel great so she laid down when she could.
First stop - Lopez Island where we didn’t get off. The San Juan’s are made up of 4 biggish islands and then a lot of smaller outer islands.
I spy with my little eye…
We got to Orcas and walked around their cute little town. These Ray’s grabbed a picture in front of Ray’s Drugstore.
The girls favored us with some music on their outside piano.
The Pacific Northwest is beautiful.
We got all checked in to our hotel called Rosario Village. It’s an old resort that has a very Dirty Dancing resort feel to it. Like, there’s not a lot to do there but it’s beautiful and was popular in ye olden days.
We checked out Mount Constitution but Delaney didn’t feel great and Adi decided to stay with her. And don’t mind my closed eyes, grandpa is a one and done kind of picture taker.
Someone carved “Frankie.”
Except it kind of looks like Erankie.
There’s a fort to climb and get an even better view.
We explored all around.
It was a very chilly spring break but we didn’t get any rain till Friday and even then it didn’t last long, so we were pretty lucky.
Adi kept us updated on baby bug. She was down for the count by 7 and she slept all night. Poor thing.
She also kept us updated on her comings and goings. 🤣
We went back into town for a lovely dinner. Frankie went ham on her chicken wings and we laughed and laughed.
Just a little messy.
I got fish and chips and everything was delicious.
After dinner we went to the island market for breakfast sandwiches and burritos and then back to our cute hotel.
Mike had let us know we might be able to see the northern lights, but we didn’t have it in us to stay up late enough. We went for a walk at 9 and tried our best.
Pretty pictures, but no luck.
Matt and grandpa shared a room and the girls and i were in the other.
I stayed up on my phone way too late, but other than that everyone slept great.
