Adventure day!

December 29th

Christian needed to pick something up from a buddy so Matt and I went with him and drove through cute little Enterprise. 

We picked up donuts from their fav little spot on our way home. 

And then it was adventure time! Frankie planned a day for us. Except she didn’t really plan food that well and on our drive down to Tallahassee we all got hungry so we stopped for a delicious Whataburger lunch. Bringing me back to ny Texas days!

It was a lot colder this day, so she found us an indoor miniature golf place that was super fun!

Ruby was ready!

It was kind of busy and there are a million of us and we wanted to be nice golfers, so we had a quick rotation of once you got your hole you moved on to the next one, so we were a little scattered, but it was still a lot of fun. 

Christian won. 🙄 

Zach Davis lives in Tallahassee and Brian has been out there too since separating from his wife, so they get together and golf and apparently Christian is getting decent. 

Welcome to the jungle, baby!

Bubba sprung for 30 minutes in the massaging chair while Jeanne fed Ruby. 

Matts nuts. 🤣

Some people liked the massager more than others. Delaney wasn’t one of them. 

Then we went to the cutest outdoor mall! It would have been really nice if it wasn’t freezing. 

The next adventure was to find a beach and take sunset pictures. Remember that Frankie planned this day. 🤣 By this point Ruby and her momma were about done adventuring. It was too cold and windy to take her on the beach, so they headed to Zach’s to give everyone a break from the car and being out and about. 

The rest of us searched for a beach. I found one on my map that said it was public, but when we got out there it was all privately hotel owned and gated. And since it was almost sunset we didn’t have a lot of time. Thankfully a kind family let us in and we got to the water in the nick of time.   

It was the prettiest beach!!!

I’ve heard about the white powdery sand of gulf beaches, but wow! It was incredible!

Beaches make all of us giddy. Even freezing ones. 

Delaney literally cannot not get into water. It doesn’t matter the temperature or the filthiness (hello Venice canals), she just can’t stay away.

I die!

Between the 5 of us we probs took at least 100 pictures. 

Frankie wasn’t pretty pleased with her day. Except that we were all still pretty full from our whataburger lunch and so we didn’t have it in us to sit down at a beachfront seafood restaurant like she’d wanted. And Jeanne didn’t think Ruby would last either. Frankie was ok with that, we had a good day. 

Delaney ended up soaking her pants, naturally. 

I let her have the front seat with the heat warmer and hot air blasting on her as soon as we got back to the car and she promptly took her wet pants off. Christian had prepped us with beach towels just in case, and they came in handy. 

We stopped at one of their kitschy souvie shops and Frankie was the only girl tha wanted a sweatshirt. 

I mean, Delaney was pants less in the car, but she still didn’t want one. 

We stayed till we were frozen, then I collected up my sand and off we went. 

There was a Kilwins at the mall, so we got some of my favorite ice cream ever. Walking through that adorable outdoor mall, still decked out for Christmas was a core memory unlocked. Too bad pantsless had to wait in the car (we brought her ice cream).

I let D stay in the front for the hour long ride home and we encountered a police checkpoint. Mind you, D’s up front in her skivvy’s with thankfully a towel covering her, but she wasn’t the most comfortable as we stopped and spoke to the nice police officers. No clue why they had a checkpoint, but we warned Christian and all was well. 

We went for early morning walks all around Daleville. It had been someone earlier in the week, but the 30th was another cold day!

I had a 2 1/2 hour women of light meeting and then bubba and Jeanne went out on their first date as parents. We were happy first babysitters for our girl!
