sandy point shoal lighthouse

after all of our near-sinking adventures we were ready to head under the bay bridge for some more lights! there were tons of naval academy yachts sailing.

crossing under the bay bridge is pretty cool. and the maryland flag on our boat. as a side note, when we first moved here (5 1/2 years ago) i thought the maryland flag was one of the ugliest things i'd ever seen. but now it's totally grown on me and i love it! i think i might even buy one of those cute md flag crabs for my car. and i want to buy chris some socks, belt, or tie to show his md pride. brenna's grandma even has a cute bag i've been eying. funny how our feelings can change from hate to love. :)
this little lady is directly to the left as you cross the bay bridge to the eastern shore.
sad little doors boarded up. how i'd love to go on this beauty!
i love that there are weeds growing around the cute little courtyard. how in the world they were growing, we could not fathom. even shelly the scientist was stumped.

love those windows! i'd love to sit up top and look out those dormers.
as we were cruising away, captain mike pointed out this navy ship that was no longer in the channel. he'd run aground and had been stuck for a few days. yikes!
these should have been included on the last post, but it was late and i got sleepy. i thought the anchor (as they put it away) was pretty cool.
all of us ladies on board were joking and teasing about the cute coast guard boys that came to rescue us. i call them 'boys' because most of us were probs old enough to be their moms or grandmas. so wouldn't you know it, there goes laura making friends! hahaha, we have so much fun together. :)
