Friday!

Move in time was 8:00, so we got up at 6 to be all nice and ready. After some nice biscuits and gravy for breakfast, we headed up to rexburg. We got to the mountain lofts before 8 and the line already wrapped around the building. And it was cold! We had a frost, so I had to scrape the windshield with a credit card, it was crazy!

We waited in line a good hour, and then had to get through the 4 stations -  information, payment, key, and parking. Finally it was time to see her apartment! It's a cute little condo. Two rooms, kitchen, and living room downstairs, then two rooms, kitchenette and laundry upstairs, with an open area down to the living room. There was only one girls things in one of the upstairs rooms, so lex picked the other room upstairs. It turned out really cutely. (:
She had just the right amount of stuff. Not too much, not too little. My little goldilocks. That took us much longer than I thought it would! But we finally got all done and bipped over next door to grab Meghan and crew for lunch at the taco bus.
Only, our gps didn't take us to the taco bus, it took us to the taco restaurant which is the same as the bus, only in a building. It was so delicious! The stuff of food dreams, for real! Yummmmm!
Christina and rob had taken the girls to the beach!
So fun!
After lunch, Lisa dropped us off on campus and Lexi got signed up with her I-team, the one thing we hadn't gotten done on Thursday.
Then it was President Clark's address to the students and parents. It was really amazing. He started by saying that it wasn't a coincidence that each and every student was there because Heavenly Father knows each of them and wanted each of them there. Especially with the way Lexi and Meghan got there, it was really powerful.
He told them they needed to be good stewards of the blessing of going to byu Idaho and be wise in their choices. He said that darkness is increasing faster than it ever has been, but light will increase faster. And that they needed to be bearers of the light. It was fabulous.
Then they sent the kids off to meet with their I-group and the parents got to ask questions. There were a lot of parents angry about the track system. I just wanted to tell them to be patient and have faith and that it would work out!

He counseled us to give our kids some space and trust that they were in a good place, right where they needed to be. And with teachers that love them. He said that he and sister Clark were blessed with the gift of loving each student without knowing them. Super fabulous.

After that we all met up. I was walking around campus just so happy! What a fun and exciting phase of life for Lexi! So happy for her! We met up and decided to make the trek back down to idaho falls for more shopping. Lexi needed perishables and bathroom stuff, since we still hadn't met her roommate to know if she had anything. I really didn't want to drive back down to IF just to have to drive back up to rexburg, and then bck down to Ogden later that night, so I was thankful Lisa offered. We went to target and got a shower curtain, rug, trash can, and other necessities, like Oreos. There were byu students and parents all over, it was fun. (: a little more running around, and then Winco for the last of the groceries. I wish we had a Winco here! Such good prices! And they have bulk bins of hot Cheetos - awesome sauce!
We got back to rexburg (so much driving!) and unpacked the latest purchases. Then there was nothing left but goodbye. And pictures. Always pictures.

The stairs up to her room, over the living room.
Cute little living room.
Her awesome kitchen.
And her front door. She has such a cute little first apartment! Love it!
Then there was nothing left but goodbye.
It was a little sad, and we both did cry a little. I gave her a letter and imparted some last motherly wisdom - remember who you are, text me one picture every day, don't get into cars with strangers, stuff like that. And then my big girl ran back into her apartment building and I drove away from her. I cried a little, but really, I'm just so happy for her. She is exactly where I want her to be. This is exactly what we've planned and saved and prayed and hoped for. So I'm not sad! We'll miss her, but with FaceTime and text, it's really not too bad. And I do realize that I am saying this after only 3 days, but still. so far, so good!
