labor day

we had a super fun labor day. matt and i cleaned our bathroom and organized in our room in the morning. yes, that is fun for me. this can often be a stressful time, but it wasn't, it was actually great. it's tough to leave when you are at  home getting 'er done, but we had a date at the pool at 2, so we headed up. we've been driving the benzie's lately.

all of the lg families, plus several families from the ward met up at the pool for a potluck and bbq. even alexis made an appearance. playing lifeguard!

christian was scheduled to work at forrest farms, but i begged him to switch. i was worried we might get in trouble for having too many guests there, and of course i'd always like to have my kids nearby. he finally decided he'd ask to switch, and i'm so glad he did. he had so much fun flaunting his power. "stop running!" "you can't do that," "out of the pool!" he's such a responsible lifeguard! ;) at one point we heard thunder. everyone looked at the lifeguards, because you are supposed to get right out of the pool. he and the other guard conference and decided they'd see if we heard anything else, but we never did. yay! brenna came over after practice, so she hung out with us the rest of the evening.

cute ireland played with delaney for a long time. and said miss delaney would not look at me. ireland and i tried to convince her for about 5 minutes. brattie.

frankie also had a little buddy - her bus buddy maria. she's a second grader that's been reading to her every day on the bus. she played with frankie for hours at the pool! i even let her take her to the park. :)

it was so hot! the water felt so good!

fuuuuuuun day!

we were sitting around talking towards the end of the evening and realized we hadn't taken any pictures. so we quickly had chris take one. :)

we closed the pool down for the season. we've used our pool more this summer than ever before, and i am actually sad the pool is closed. usually i am relieved by the time it closes because it's such a lot of work, but this summer it was also pretty fun. :)

we got three tired girls to bed, and as i was heading downstairs to do some google work, lexi said she was going to go see "if i stay" with meghan, and if i wanted to go. i hadn't even showered from the pool yet and we needed to leave right then, but my girl is leaving for college in a week so i said sure! we picked up meg and lisa, and off we went! it was so fun! way better than getting a normal amount of sleep. ;)

grandpa showed up on tuesday after school. the girls were sooooo excited! especially frankie! we love our grandpa! they picked up right where they left off - "can we watch a movie on your laptop?"

and a fun weather fact. we only had one day in august that was over 90° - august 31. now in september, we've had 3, and yesterday was 89°.
