weekend

i got to be the preschool helper on thursday. i picked up abby and lily, dropped off frankie, and headed over the bridge through the fog. they learned about families and it was really cute, but also really tiring. :) laney was an angel, she slept till the last 5 minutes and then joann took the kids outside so i could feed her. then i couldn't find my keys for about 15 minutes, but that's another story. ;)

abby came home with us and played, so the girls had a fun day.  christian had his 2nd round championship basketball game that night. our rockets lost 28-24. they played a good game and all the parents and coach rose were very  proud of them. the other teams parents showed some of the worst sportmanship ever. i seriosuly had to bite my tongue and as soon as the game was over i had to quickly leave because i wanted to tell them something so bad. cheer for your team, but don't be rude to people or be mean to the kids. especially when your winning, you know?

alexis had her friend megan over, so they hung out all night.

matt started masters classes thurs night too. he's been reading and studying every day and already has his homework done for this thurs. go matt!

alexis, megan, christian, delaney and i went to see hunger games at midnight. we met up with alecia, dari and two of her grandkids, and laura and two of her kids. we all really liked the movie and had a good time. and popcorn and cherry coke, so you can't go wrong, right? i think i'm gonna see it again with matt, if we can ever figure out a date night. :)

 on friday christian stayed home from school (alexis went because megan had to go - moral support!), so when i put the girls down for naps, i headed out to do some visiting teaching. i had a nice visit with shirlene and then took advantage of being dressed (;)) and out with only one baby. we hit the dollar tree for some birthday goodies (mostly just for the balloons), wally world (birthday presents and gardening supplies), and panera (treat for a friend going through a tough time). alexis went on a pre-camp hike up at calvert cliffs. she's a 5th year (ycl - youth camp leader) this year! she really doesn't want to go, but i hope she has fun anyway. christian walked with some friends up to ledo's for some pizza and i went and visited a friend and dropped off treats, with all 3 girlies in tow. matt didn't end up getting home from work until after 8. looong day for everyone!

on saturday (frankie's birthday) it was supposed to rain all day but the rain held off until after 1. we got a lot of yard work done. we tore out a few of the 'decorative grasses' that drive me crazy and trimmed the rest. christians baseball practice and our neighborhood easter egg hunt got cancelled because of the rain. :(

never a break for our working kids. not even on their birthdays. ;)

addie had already ditched us by this point. she went over to neighbor crystal's house. crystal speaks chinese, but is learning english, and at 3-years old their verbal skills really aren't that different. ;)

kajsa had spent the night with alexis and after they ditched the volleyball tournament (that i wouldn't have made her go to but since she said she would i thought she should) they invited jj and robbie over. they played (but didn't finish) several games and finally watched some movies. we ordered pizza and celebrated our frankie girl a little bit.

uncle dan was performing with an army band up in dc, so matt drove up there to have dinner with him. then alexis, kajsa, delaney, and i went up to the church for the yw broadcast and ice cream. it was fun to visit with friends and the broadcast was really good.

 kajsa and megan spent the night with us. alexis and kajsa baked chocolate chip cookies and white chocolate blondies for a fundraiser and we went to church and for a walk. after church alexis went to another ycl meeting for camp. super busy weekend for lu-lu!

 and that was our weekend.
