the rest of the visit

wednesday:

we stayed up late visiting and holding babies and talking.

we did that every night, but wednesday was the first. the latest we stayed up until was 3am.

amy and i could talk forever. not sure what we even talk about, but we talk, and talk, and talk.

i do know that we talk about being better people and we try our best to hold each other accountable .
always trying to be better. :)

thursday:

it was such a beautiful day that we planned a picnic at sotterly plantation. then we moved sloooooowly and didn't end up leaving until around 12. then we picked up subway and chips and cookies at food lion and didn't even get out to sotterly until after 1. babies make everything so sloooow.

the picnic was fun, until the girls found sticks.

then there was a little drama that culminated in addie getting a couple of time-outs by this beautiful tree.

very dramatic, that one.

we had a bbq that night. then we went for a walk and visited and held babies and talked.

friday:

it was a rainy day so amy and kristi worked on the projects i had for them. ;) if you visit me i could hook you up with a fun project too. so i have this collage wall... and i got in over my head... and it's been a few years... and amy finished it for me!!! and we only had to buy 1 extra frame! i'll take a picture of it after i paint and fill the rest of the frames.

(i'm so excited about my wall being done that i would have already finished it, but darnit people want clean clothes and food!)

that night we rented the new footloose from the redbox - super bad.

and we visited and held babies and talked.

saturday:

we made a big breakfast and went for a walk. then christian had a basketball game at 2 that we all (minus matt, addie, and frankie who were home napping) went to and cheered him on. after that we went shopping and got goodies and a new board game (logos). we had heidi, hannah, robbie, and jj over and we made appetizers and ate junk food and visited and held babies and talked.

sunday:

we went to church, watched some movies, went for a walk, and visited and held babies and talked.

monday:

another gorgeous day. we decided to take a trip to dc and visit the holocaust museum. amy talked alexis and christian in to coming with us, and i let them, even though we had 9 people in a car that seats 8, including 4 car seats. it was fun trying to fit everyone. ;)

 our goal was to leave by 10, but no later than 11. we finally rolled out at 11:30. :) quinn started crying around 12 and poor baby cried almost the whole rest of the way. then we got to search for parking. i had been thinking about how nice dc is and that we really should visit it more, but this trip highlighted why we don't. it's tough with babies. driving and parking in dc is tough even without babies, but add 3 babies, 4 on this day, and that makes it more difficult. still worth it every once in awhile. :)

anyway, we finally made it to the holocaust museum. frankie and laney lasted for about 10 minutes once we'd finally gotten upstairs. i had planned to be with the little girls on the mall for the day anyway, so it was all good. we walked over by the washington monument and played on a tree. frankie had a weird 10 minute crying fit that ended when she wet her diaper, maybe a bladder thing? then about 5 minutes after that, after we'd only been there about 15 minutes, addie needed to go potty. don't think i didn't think about letting her go on the grass, but then i thought better of it and we walked back to the potty, a good 5 minutes away. squeezing a double stroller, 3 little girls and 1 big mama into the bathroom stall and doing our business was fun. we walked back to our tree, settled down for 10 minutes and then addie did this super fun thing she's been doing lately where she goes potty and then 10 minutes later she frantically has to go potty again (#2). soooo, back to the potty we went. it was one of those moments where if you don't laugh you'll cry. after all the potty incidents though, we were all good.

after the group finished at the holocaust museum we met up, fed babies, and hustled to the air and space museum. frankie fell asleep and i hung out with her and laney while the rest navigated the museum.

we closed the place down and then hung out on the mall for awhile. the babies tag teamed the crying on the way home. they were pretty good, just tired from the long day out. we picked up pizza hut on the way home and visited and held babies and talked.

tuesday:

we had our last photo shoot and they packed and got ready to go. and we visited and held babies and talked. they left around 12:30.

a couple of things about when amy and i get together:

*we forget to take pictures. we have no pictures of us together this trip, and really, not that many of the babies, at least not for me. we didn't even get any of all the kids together!

*we stay up way too late, eat way too much, and want to spend all of our time together. i kind of neglect everything else, i just love spending time with my sister!

we had a great visit. it was a good amount of time and we were all so glad to meet sweetie quinn. i just wish they lived closer! we miss so much having them completely across the country!
