tuesday:
so after amy and crew left, i had to get ready for my 6 week check-up.
yay, i can exercise again! ;)
it was the strangest check-up evah.
delaney had woken up and was fussy before i left, so i took her with me.
(i would have left her with christian if she was asleep)
then she was fussy in the office, so i held her throughout my, ahem, check.

wednesday:
alecia texted us in the morning and invited us to the park, and even though i had a million things to do, we went and played all morning and part of the afternoon. at this time of year you never know what the weather is going to do, so you have to take advantage of the nice days, right?
matt didn't have scouts that night, so when he got home around 4 we quickly split up our time so we could both get some things done. he took the first 2-hours with the girls and i attacked the mountain of laundry. i usually stay on top of laundry so it's not too bad, but lately its.been.terrible.
then i let matt have some time while i bathed and put the girls to bed. win, win.
the big kids rode up to church with laura and crew.
thursday:
we took a preschool field trip to the calvert marine museum for a special frog time.
this little blondie in the pink dress loved it!
this little dirty blondie in the purple dress did not.
she wanted to wander and collect pinecones, and when she wasn't allowed to do that, she stayed glued to me.
(that's delaney in the bjorn)
they even brought out 2 real frogs to show the kids.
this little finkleheimer frog could have watched them all day.
on the way out, we peeked in on the otters.
and then the girls loved pretending like they were mermaids.
after the field trip we went over to the park where that little blondie girl in pink got us in trouble.
after lunch all the moms were still in the gazebo and i couldn't keep as close an eye on frankie as i always try to. another mom came up and said that the little blond in the pink dress was hitting, scratching, and not letting her daughter take a turn on the play equiptment.
what am i gonna do with that sweet little blond girl?
none of my kids have been hitters.
and she's like a bi-polar bully. she'll be mean, go to time out, and then be super duper sweet.
one day she went to time out at least 15 times.
we're working on it.
that afternoon laura took christian out to red robin. i am so thankful to have good friends that take interest in my kids. i think a caring adult can make all the difference in the world. it makes me more mindful of myself and how i can help other youth.
then when she brought him home, she and i drove over to alecia's for a girls movie night. we watched emma and ate yummy treats and had a wonderful time. laura and i left just before midnight and hit wally world for some frosting for an emergency baking project that laura's son made. laney cried for about 3 minutes on the drive home, then fell asleep and slept in her carseat for 7 hours! 7 hours! of course, i got up with the big kids after just 5 hours (5 hours!), but it was still nice that she slept that long.
friday:
even though it was beautiful, i had to get some work done. i paid bills and did all those fun papery things in the morning and did some cleaning and trying to catch up in the afternoon. christian had his last basketball practice and then we couponed at cvs. it was a quiet day.
saturday:
delaney and i headed out at 9 for womens conference. it was wonderful. good speakers, good food, and good friends. i drove up by myself so i could leave a few minutes early and make it to c's basketball game at 3.
while i was gone, matt took christian to his first baseball practice and to meet the coach at 1. he took the little girls to the park while c practiced. then they went straight to his basketball game where we met up. the rockets won, yay! that was the last regular season game, now on to the championships. (which every team participates in)
lexi was bored at home all day, so my sweet husband kept the big (little girls) again and laney, lexi, and i went shopping. christian went with mike, david, and family to their boys basketball games and then skating. lexi and i hit up marshalls (love that store!), kohls, and dicks.
and that leaves sunday:
lazy mornings with church at 1, which i love, love, love.
franks was a handful. she saw that abby was sitting just 2 rows behind us and cried for her at least half of sacrament meeting. other than frankie, church was great. christian was ordained a teacher. so proud of that boy!
we took 2 cars so matt could stay for a scout meeting. he got volunteered to chair a fundraiser (!) and volunteered to go to florida to help chaperone a scuba diving trip for the eagle scouts of our ward (!). he's got some great ideas already for both, so i'm sure he'll do great.
the rest of us rushed home, whipped up 2 texas sheet cakes and dinner, and then back to church at 6 for an adult fireside that was also fabulous. we stayed until 9 visiting and helping to clean up.
and that was our fun week.
