On Monday I took the kids to a cute Children’s Museum here in Great Falls.
We were the only ones there for about an hour, and the owner had let us know that masks were optional, which I didn’t love except that while no one else was around, which was true for us for a good chunk of the day, we were mask free. I don’t mind masking up, but obviously if it’s safe not to, I won’t.
This was a cool children’s museum. Very community oriented with tons of sponsors, community donations, and artwork by community members.
Emmett loved the kitchen and hung out there for a long time.
The girls loved the typewriter, and then behind Frankie there is an old switchboard that was used in great falls. It had a small rotary pad attached to it so I taught each girl how to dial a rotary phone, except for smartie Addie that figured it out on her own.
Lego area. Addie had actually been looking out the window at the train tracks.
This was the reception area for the dental office complete with chairs and X-ray machine.
Em and I spent some time with the cars and tracks.
He was not a fan of the hard hats.
But he does enjoy hammering.
Around this time another 1-year-old came upstairs where we were playing and Emmett would walk up and get super close to him like he wanted to kiss him, but he never did. I figured it’s because he kisses Carter that he just thinks that’s what you do. Our poor covid baby hasn’t been around a lot of other kids in his little life, and we all laughed about how silly and awkward he was.
Addie taught some school.
And then Frankie got a turn. The owner was very friendly and came and chatted with us and shared that she created the schoolroom while they were shutdown for covid. She paints and decorates herself using community donations.
This is the main area of the upstairs and then each area is off in the rooms to the side.
Stores are always favorite go to’s.
We went upstairs and downstairs several times. The main level has a cute area for babies and Addie played with Em inside the walled area for awhile.
You can’t really see them, but Frankie and Delaney are pilot and co-pilot, while Addie is holding Emmett through the sunroof.
They also have an air traffic control tower.
And Frankie made some calls while working at the bank.
Busy crunching the numbers.
Emmett and I even took a turn. He really was having fun, even when he looks scared. 😂
More grocery shopping.
I taught the girls how to load paper into the typewriter and showed them how it worked. It didn’t have any ink, but you could kind of make out the imprint of each letter.
And now Addie wants a typewriter.
😍 We played from 9-1 and then it was nap time for buddy and school time for aunties.
It snowed that evening and we hunkered down and got cozy with this sweet guy.
We binge watched a new Disney show The Secrets of Sulpher Springs which is fun to watch, but one of those shows where the parents don’t believe the kids so the kids sneak around (a ton) and save the day. We talked a lot about how that’s not realistic and also not ok. I had a 2 hour presidency meeting where we finalized women’s conference and lots of training plans.
And this guy is just the cutest. I love holding him on my chest like this, and he just stares at me. He was looking at me and then fell asleep like this so I made Frankie stand above me on the couch and get this shot. #worthit
