this morning after we sent the girls off to school, we loaded up the jolly green and headed to leisa's new house. she's got a gorgeous house just 2 miles from the temple. if she wasn't such a good friend, i'd probably be super jealous.
we went up to celebrate miss v's birthday. leisa made English muffin pizza's (a snack of my childhood that I forgot was so delicious) and chocolate chip cake with cookie dough frosting - super tasty.
it was a long drive and with 4 4-and-under it's always crazy. then Chelsea and crew met us at their house and the kids went crazy wild, but it was totally worth it. they all took turns napping on the ride home, so that ride was much better.
this one comes home tomorrow. and then goes straight back to work this weekend. serving our country at it's finest! :/ he will actually be in our state tomorrow, and we're all ready for him to come home. we have a good daddy and we're ready for him to resume his good daddy responsibilities. at the same time, i'm glad he's had such a good time in fort worth. he totally deserves it.
we picked girls up from school, came home for 5 minutes, and off we went. bank, store, friends, SMAC, in that order. I got to see my one and only baby boy run in probably his last track meet ever. his only event today was the 400, he came in 2nd in his heat, and he shaved .76 seconds off his previous PR. I am so proud of him. he's taken what he has and made the best of it. this boy will do big things when he figures out which big things he wants to do.
there's a new ice cream truck in st. marys county. and yes, this is small town living, so that is a big deal. it's called kona ice and its a shave ice truck. they give you the shaved ice plain, then on the side of the truck they have all the different flavors. i'm more of a fancy shave ice with cream on top kinda gal, but this was good and fun and different. the owner is the former l-town swim team coach, and very nice, so I hope he does well. the girls enjoyed it. especially laney with her eyes closed.
last stop of the night - to the store to pick up flowers for the girls ballet recital this weekend. they don't have a clue the flowers are for them, and no, I didn't splurge on the roses. they are 6 and 7 years old, so they can be happy with the neon colored daisies that were $5. :)
