Then it was on to the school for Frankies last K field trip. I finally got to be a bus riding chaperone, so we were both excited.
We went out to Southern Comfort to pick strawberries and check out their animals. Like this here cow.
Cute hens. Frankie got in there and petted all of them.
Then it was time for strawberry picking. That's so Frankie.
But so is this.
Because we've had rain almost every day this month, the berries weren't great. But we picked through as best we could and filled up her small container. She planned weeks ago that she'd wear her strawberry dress.
Our class went with S's, and since Joni was bringing her kids, she offered to bring D too. Mrs. Schou has made it very clear that sibs are not allowed (or welcome) so I was super anxious about it, but I finally decided to go for it. It's May, after all, and it's not like I'm afraid to buck trends ever. It all worked out and I don't think I've made an enemy. (At least no more so than the past)
Farm girl patiently waiting her turn.
After the porta-potty, a good 5-10 minute fit ensued. It was really hot, and our first hot day after like, 25 of cold rain. D wouldn't drink "it would just make it worse!" and she wanted to ride the bus home with me NOW. We finally managed to pick some berries (such a small amount that Carrie let us have them for free) and then decided to check out the bus.
Little sister is dreaming of next year when she can ride the bus (hopefully). We left about 30 minutes early because all the kids were red faced, hot, dirty messes. D and A promptly fell asleep in Joni's car.
This happened. Eeeeeee!!!!
No rest for the fun (and thrifty)! Chicfila had military appreciation night, and when you say free food, I say "where?" We got there right at 4, because we had 5:00 daisies, and it was a good thing because that place was bumping. This chic had red cheeks all day!
Sister Nauliaa worked her face painting magic.
I'm in love!
Then it was off to Vandermere Farms for a fun Daisy activity.
We got to brush and decorate mini ponies.
I swear they were happy.
Then it was time to ride.
They all loved it and wished for longer turns.
I would love to let them take lessons. Someday hopefully.
Party planning is in full swing. We've got graduation, graduation party, 2 birthdays, a birthday party, a baptism, and a month long trip all coming up in the next few weeks. Makes my head spin a bit, but I'm holding it down. Sort of. (:

And this giant, skiddish pig.
And this cute little baby goat who projectiled just a few minutes before this pic was taken.Cute hens. Frankie got in there and petted all of them.
