on tuesday night addie and i put together valentine bags and cut out hearts for our valentine party on wednesday.
addie kept saying "i makin' valentines for my friends!" it was so cute.
don't mind our hair. and the chocolate on addie's face. i would have had some on my face too if i ate like addie.
on wednesday we got home from gymnastics a few minutes later than we usually do (due to the unfortunate stamp cutting incident) and we already had some friends waiting for us. so we jumped right into the fun.
we host playgroup in the basement where all the toys are. (or should be!)
we made valentine card containers out of empty oatmeal and cookie containers, then we wrapped them in valentine wrapping paper. not the most creative card holder, but you know.
christian came down for a few minutes and showed addie and charlie the legos. they were hooked and didn't move from this little nook for like 30 minutes! addie didn't even want to help with our card holder!
then we had our themed lunch. we had heart and x and o shaped pb and j's, heart shaped jello jigglers, heart shaped fruit snacks, grapes, cookies, and red kool-aid.
it was pretty adorable.
then it was time to pass out valentines. there's not much that's cuter than 10 1,2, and 3 year olds wandering around, trying to follow their mom's directions and trying to pass out their valentines.
"addie, this one is for scott, right there. no that one is anderson, give it to scott. no, scott's right there, not charlie, scott!"
evan just hung out in the car for a long time and took his delivery's.
it was cute.
addie loved it! as soon as she got a lolli-pop valentine, she said "i want to go show bubba!" and disappeared for a few minutes. i was onto her though and brought her down before she could eat it. she was like a girl on a mission though!
then christian came down and got a group shot.
awww, so fun!
after everyone left, addie became even more fixated on eating that lolli-pop.
(i frickin' love this picture!!!)
i told her she had to finish her sandwich before she could eat it, so she held onto that lolli-pop for dear life. she played with it and put it into her sandwich.
like a little lolli-pop flag.
"yummmmm."
sweet success!!!
finally!
i love this one too.
that is one happy, sweet-toothed girl.
we went through her valentines like 20 times before the day was through. and of course we had to show bubba, and lexi, and daddy, and anyone else that wandered through the house.
we had so much fun and i'm thinking we'll need to make this an annual thing.
maybe next year we'll even get a little creative with our card holders. :)
